Sandra and her family and team at the Royal Oak provided the bar and buffet for my husbands 80th birthday in Tingewick Village Hall. Well I couldn’t fault it. The buffet was incredible and her staff were engaging and gave great service. Even clearing and cleaning the hall afterwards. Sandra herself
Visited for lunch as a group of 12. We sat in the beer garden which was very pleasant indeed. Staff were lovely and couldn't have done more for us. Food was superb, the lunchtime menu had all of the pub classics that you know and love. Glad to have found this pub and will definitely be visiting agai
There is an art to a great village pub, you often have only one or two in a village so they become very important parts of their communities.
Now, I was only briefly in Tingewick, but there was a wedding olin town, which saw the bar get crazy busy quickly, and then died down. The staff dealt with a
Great place. Convenient parking. Very friendly welcome. Good food on offer. We just wanted a snack and were offered a number of options including our final choice of just a fresh ham sandwich. It was great to have the option of NOT having the usual pile of chips and salad, though they were offered.
Two of us had a thoroughly enjoyable Sunday carvery meal. We were welcomed by roaring log fire with tabby cat comfortably asleep in front of it. The food was excellent and we ate every last mouthfull. I would recommend coming to the Royal Oak and I certainly will do again.
Lovely small country pub. We stopped whilst driving through the village with our 6 month baby due a rest. The landlady was lovely and very welcoming. It's not often you read a sign that says "warm and friendly welcome" and then actually receive it 😀
Only visited as passing through village but we received a warm welcome. Sunday roast had a large selection of vegetables but the beef was unfortunately rather tough. Lovely open fire.
Car broke down on the bypass, and ended up here waiting for recovery. Sunday carvery was fantastic. staff and other customers were friendly. My only problem was when one of the 'customers' jumped up from the bar and wet to serve someone a carvery. failed to wash hands. It might have been someone fro
The Sunday carvery is very good. Very friendly staff, however I'm not sure about having the TV on in the background. I personally would've preferred some soft music. Or nothing. Definitely worth another visit though
Stopped by chance travelling from Cambridge to Swindon. Had a fabulous Sunday carvery. Lovely family run bar and restaurant.. Great hosts and food. What more could you want?
