Fab food, great pub. My husband was in heaven with his seafood platter
Booked quite late for a planned pub lunch midway through a long/cold country walk. Very welcoming, staff were all great and food was of good quality (particularly the desserts). Will definitely be visiting again.
Fantastic 30th Birthday party for my son at The Barley Mow last night. The food was amazing and massive thanks to Debbie, Kim and all the staff for all of their help and hard work. We are lucky to have such a great local pub.
Thank you to the Barley Mow for hosting parents and kids post tobogganing coffee and got chocolate today. 15 toddlers not the normally Friday morning crowd.
Called in for a mid week treat. Friendly pub with tasty food.
A Real pub, just a little worn, shabby, cosy, friendly and comfy.
Dog friendly, good beers, good food, GREAT chips and wonderful staff.
Love it
Proper country pub with great choice of real ales & good food worth a visit
A fab lunch with friends. Brilliant service and delicious food for our party of 20. Well done and thanks Barley Mow.
This goes to the very top of my list and have already recommended to friends.
Great pub to just chill with a beer, watch the cricket on the green and let the world go by..........
we called in about 14.30 yesterday after walking the three crazy dogs, and although the kitchen had closed they opened it again and made a really good chicken salad, and prawn bagett for us. Fabulously friendly pub xxx

lovely place, great garden, had an excellent hog roast! thanks!
Went in for lunch- had a fantastic lunch in the garden. Freshly cooked venuson steak was superb.
Fantastic pub with friendly happy staff and fantastic food! The roast dinner is amazing and the pizzas served outside are delicious. Always a great experience visiting here!
Nothing beats the location, cricket green, river, fields at the back. Kid friendly and though we just had drinks we'll be back for pizza very soon. Amazing walking and cycling all around Tilford. On a sunny evening there's nowhere better. 😍
The pub was two staff members down today. The service was as friendly and obliging as ever but obviously strained. We waited 35 minutes for drink and our food came cold.
(Was then microwaved on complaint)
Normally the experience here is a good deal better but YMMV.
Vegan desserts are available! My chocolate cake was intensely sweet and not that chocolatey. Still good though.
Neither of the house wines I tried were particularly great.
I recommend booking the main pub which is full of warmth and character, and not being sat in their new building which is stuffy, echoing and a bit clinical.
Visiting for a beer in the sunshine and watching the cricket is the best way to experience the Barley Mow.
The young woman who served me my cider was lovely. All members of staff were friendly and excelled in serving some very thirsty people.
It was the ideal place to be while watching the cricket.
***We attended this place again in February 2022. The members of staff were very helpful. We asked if they were doing food. They informed us that although the kitchen was closed, there were pizzas available next door. The staff members had what looked like lovely food and that was nice to see. It is refreshing when members of staff are allowed to sit down and have something to eat. Not many places do this and it was great to see members of stafff having a meal and having the pub's food.
The pub had a great atmpsphere and it was extremely funny to hear someone at the next table speak about how he put a tin of beans in the microwave and what obviously and subsequently transpired.
I really, really liked the way in which the pub was decorated. There is also a place where people can sit in the back of the pub.***
Great country pub, nestled alongside a beautiful green in a quaint village. Truly excellent traditionally cooked pizza - but get in early, queues can be log!
Popped in on Friday late afternoon for a drink as we were in the area. Friendly, welcoming staff for us and our young pup. A great British pub that hasn't changed for the worse. The Harveys Best was lovely.
What can I say, fantastic service, fantastic food and very reasonably priced.
They were really accomadating as we had a 6 month old lab that was very excited, but they sat us in the corner where she was away from People and we had an excellent 3 course meal
We will definitely return xxxxx

What a lovely little pub! Situated on the end of the large cricket green, The Barley Mow is a gem in the crown of Tilford. I went today for drinks and food with friends. Staff were very friendly, and service was excellent. The pizza was great! Handmade, fired in a pizza oven and with that perfectly crispy crust, I really recommend visitors to the pubs try it. The pub garden, backing onto the River Wey, is a perfect setting for a relaxed summer evening. Thank you for your hospitality!
Huge freshly cooked fish and fresh chips. (Loads of other menu options though!)
Hot, tasty, filling.. everything I wanted on this chilly March evening. Staff are attentive and friendly. Nice proper old English pub!
Lovely location. Garden with river , cafe, and pizza oven plus food in the oldie pub. Across the road, a large green and another stretch of the river you can sit by.
A very nice English village pub that also serves food and has pizza too. Nice open fire and sits right on the village green too.
Went with friends so that helped make it ok. Unfortunately because we had to sit outside because we'd come with dogs we could only have pizza, which were ok but would've been nice to have had a wider choice
Small homely pub with decent beer and good service with good food

Had the burgers and cheese board. The food was amazing, definitely recommend and the service was very good, very comfy and pleasant atmosphere
Friendly traditional pub with good ale range and fab vegetarian Sunday Roast. Right on the green in a lovely cliche if an English village! Young crew were doing a great job on a busy Sunday .
Another 5 star from me. A great location on the 'River Weys' , where the North and South Rivers meet before joing the Thames. But it's all about the lovely Cricket green here. On a sunny day watching a quintessential English game of village Cricket and having a real ale.
Lovely Pizza oven outside too.
Building will need some external improvements in the not too distant future.
