Fantastic pub. Wendy, Allan and the girls have completely turned this pub around. Newly decorated, amazing function room (they pull out all the stops for private parties, going above and beyond). Always a nice welcoming atmosphere to be had here. Great priced food. Very good range of Gins and different tonics. Know how to keep food beers. Really friendly family run pub. All of the staff are nice and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. 100% recommend this pub to everybody, whether you be here in holiday or live in the village or surrounding area, the George Inn Tideswell is definitely worth a visit.

We decided to go for a walk in the area and had booked a table for afterwards. We had a fantastic meal. The atmosphere was great. People friendly. This is a must place to visit. They even do breakfast !

Even though it wasn’t time for them doing food as they had a large funeral party in, they found space for us and let us eat. Food portions are massive and absolutely tasty as anything. I had sausage and mash in a large Yorkie with gravy and peas. Piping hot and could find no faults. There was nothing left on any of our plates. Kids loved it, they gave the dog treats and every member of staff were so friendly. Great relaxing atmosphere in there x

Forget your supermarket meal deals, the lunches at this lovely inn are incredible. Absolutely beautiful sandwiches, lovely bread and my BLT was the best ever. BLT, side salad, crisps & homemade coleslaw for.... £7.50. My wife's cheese & chutney sandwich was equally impressive for just £7. I rarely write reviews, but couldn't pass this one up. Thank you so much! Staff exceptionally helpful!

Review for the pub and food (haven't stayed). Ordered chicken burger and fries - was lovely, not huge portions but this is reflected in the reasonable price and meant we had room for dessert! Lovely friendly staff and good selection of drinks. Pretty courtyard with lots of seating to the rear and picnic benches out the front.

Beautiful old pub with overflowing window boxes of flowers from the room's window. Lovely village to explore. Very historic location. Only minus was the room felt overly renovated so didn't feel like the old building we were in. But overall I would recommend!

Just experienced best Sunday roast in Tideswell , be it chicken or beef. Both of us thoughly enjoyed our meal, including the sticky ginger sponge & custard. All well prepared and presented by friendly staff . Competitively priced guaranteeing at least another visit before returning home next week. Best pub in town.

Great food friendly staff. Room was clean and smelt fresh. We only stopped the one night but enjoyed it. Only gripe was the mattress which was very uncomfortable (room 2) if we had stopped another night we would have asked for more pillows. Don’t let that put you off though, as the welcoming atmosphere and top notch food more than made up for it ( please invest in a better mattress 😉).

Pleasant place to stop for a drink, go in the courtyard if the weather is nice as it is a lovely place to sit out. Pretty flowers on the tables. We didn't eat here, but the food that came out looked nice. Barmaid was friendly enough and helpful. One minus is the toilets, could really do with an update and they need to get rid of the towel to wipe your hands - so unhygienic. Needs single use towels or a hand dryer.

By George! Sorry, I couldn’t help it. Scrumptious roasts, with Yorkshire pudding big enough to hold a mug of gravy and separate plate just for the cauliflower and cheese. What’s not to like. The chicken Katsu curry was devoured with gusto. You have to forgive the suboptimal photos as we were famished after a wet and muddy walk along the River Wye. Couldn’t have picked a better place!

Really nice breakfast! Friendly staff! Called in on a Sunday morning, greeted on avival and seated within 2 mins. Lovely atmosphere inside the pub 😀 full English breakfast was beautiful and well made! Nothing to not like, washed down with an orange juice! No big wait on food which was nice to set us up for a hill day in the peaks

Wonderful traditional pub in the heart of Tideswell. Lovely atmosphere and food and a wide variety of ales and other beverages. Such a friendly welcome and the regulars are really friendly.

Comfortable bed. Nice shower. The choice of bottled water, tea, coffee, hot chocolate and biscuits was better than some 5* hotels. Lovely evening meal and breakfast. Friendly staff. Very pretty village
