Horse & Farrier Inn - Threlkeld - Photo album

We stayed here for a couple of nights and really enjoyed the pub. The staff were great, the food was good (although relatively pricey) and the range of beers was excellent. There are two reasons though why I can't give the full five stars - the first is that virtually all tables were reserved for fo
The food here is so incredibly delicious we dined here 3 nights in a row, trying new parts of the menu every time. The braised lamb is particularly good. The portions are very hearty. You will leave absolutely stuffed. Staff are delightful, atmosphere is warm and friendly.
We had a wonderful stay for my wife's birthday - the staff couldn't have been friendlier! We were lucky enough to get an upgrade to a much bigger room with a beautiful, large bathroom with a roll top bath. Bed was very comfortable and the room was really nicely appointed with comfy chairs. Breakfast
We came as recommended for the Sunday Lunch and weren’t disappointed. Portions were large including a massive Yorkshire pudding and the veggie option was delicious which isn’t always the case at some places. Would recommend.
Had dinner there, delicious food, really fast service and friendly staff. Lovely experience would definitely eat there again! Dog friendly too
The Horse & Farrier is a traditional small hotel around 3 or 4 miles from Keswick, either driving along the A66 or walking / cycling along a lovely disused railway which takes you to the centre of Keswick. The location is great for walking and Threlkeld itself is nice and quiet. The room we stayed i
Nice pub, nice food and beer at the end of our walk along the Threlkeld path. Vegan and vegetarian options available. Delicious pint of Guiness, definitely be calling in a lot more on my travels
Booking is advised, this place is busy on an evening! We were staying just down the road, so a 5 minute walk in the beautiful village of Threlkeld. The food was delicious ( chicken ballotine and Cumberland sausage). It was a busy Saturday but we had our food within 20 or so minutes . Table service w
Absolute gem of a country pub in threlkeld, staff, service and food were second to none....we was only in the vicinity for the weekend but made it our local....going to miss this place and the amazing views from the outdoor seating area.....great place
Called for lunch, nice place very clean good parking etc and the service was ok, we were shown to a nice table and drinks order taken straight away, food served after 20mins or so. Very reasonably priced for the area and by comparison to other similar establishments. I would visit again and I would
We actually stayed in the Sister hotel The Salutation, however all meals were served in the Horse and Farrier, both pubs are worth a visit , set in a quiet village Threlkeld on the fringes of Keswick at the base of Blencathra , so a really handy stopover with access to walking and trips around the L
Had a walk from Keswick and found this beautiful inn. Had two lasagna’s and a ploughman’s, exceptional. Dogs welcome, both had doggie sausages. Very warm welcome from the staff. A hidden gem.
In the pitch dark of an early March evening I hopped off the X4 / X5 bus between Penrith and Keswick, and called into this lovely country pub. Enjoyed a wonderfully warming Leek & Potato Soup, and a Half of Wainwright's Gold. Lovely warm location, great food and friendly staff.
Eaten here twice now and love the place. The staff are very attentive and great food on the menu! Very welcoming to dogs as well! 👌🏽
Popped in whilst en route to Keswick, just off the A66. Both the steak pie and the fish and chips were very tasty, and so was the ale. Worth a visit, it's only about 10 mins further than the end of the Keswick railway path which is a lovely walk and would be made better with a visit to this pub. Rec
Only popped in for a pint, but lovely location, friendly staff and the food looked very appetisng.
Right in the centre of Threlkeld, this is an old English pub. Worth a visit, with a well stocked bar and nice beers. The staff are very warm. The place has an actual fire place which for me was the USP.
