The Exeter Inn, Thorverton - Thorverton - Photo album

Found The Exeter Inn, in a small village, there is limited parking but free car park just a short walk up the road. Looks lovely from outside but could do with a make over inside, there are guns hanging from the ceiling, look dangerous. Food was nice and very, very good value, range of beers includi
Wonderful food, great staff and such a friendly atmosphere. Highly recommend the Sunday lunch!
We were a party of 9 plus 2 dogs, they fitted us all in and made us all very welcomed. Even though they had a big birthday party going on. The food was excellent home made pasty & burgers. We asked for a table the following night. Smashing friendly people such a traditional old pub. We will recommen
Had a great evening doing Xmas quiz which was really well organised. Lovely atmosphere and great pub food and beer. Dogs made wonderfully welcome too. Altogether a proper country pub.
This is a proper local pub with bags of character. The menu is good honest standard pub fare, but what I wasn't expecting was how outstanding the food was. I had ham, egg and chips. The eggs free range, proper real ham from the local Exe Valley farm shop and tasty chips... and all this for £8! (yes
Very accommodating to us as late arrivals for Sunday lunch. A warm welcome and a tasty roast dinner was promptly served as we marvelled at the collection of paraphernalia around the bar. A real find!
Great pub, with extremely good, attentive staff. Large portions of classic pub grub. Would recommend this place for food or just a drink. Made us all feel so welcome, definitely worth going to.
Great village pub where beer and food has been good on each of my many visits. Try the steak night you won’t be disappointed.
What a wonderful place! New managers really are trying to cater for all needs, nice mix of locals having a pint and others coming to eat. Inside full of interesting antiques and a 15 foot well covered and viewable. Very reasonable pub food with scampi, ham/eggs, chicken/fish goujons, burgers etc.
I stopped here for some much needed refreshment on a 2 day cycle tour to Blandford and really enjoyed my time here.(shame I had to move on) Lots of Ale and cider on offer and a pleasant bar lady makes a change from some places I have visited. I you like antique guns and other such stuff there is a
Staying in Thorverton house/dog sitting fir the weekend. Had a fabulous meal fish and chip tea last night. Delicious, thank you. Strongly recommend!
Great little pub with friendly and accommodating staff. Make sure you ask for Barry to serve you, he’s a real laugh. Only downside is they don’t tolerate hobos with glue sniffing tendencies. As a result I’ve been banned for 16 years or so. I didn’t take the replica gun it was Bruce and he also clog
The best pub, well worth a visit, everyone should go there at least once! All sorts of interesting oddities adorn the ceilings and walls and behind the bar. Lovely staff, good atmosphere, plus bonus of no children!!
'Proper pub'! Great beer, good food, friendly locals and service and lots of history.
Stopped here this lunchtime and had to leave them a little review. An old work colleague lives in Thorveton and I have not seen him for many years. I remember him saying he drank in the best pub in Thorveton and as I was passing I went in. The landlord was sorting some stuff in the garden and I aske
Great rural pub and home of my first 'legal' pint (decades ago I should confess). The walls are adorned in historic weaponry (Cromwellian to WW2) with machine guns, rifles, shotguns, muskets, pistols, swords and pikes. You will even find a man-trap above one of the fireplaces so be on your best beha
Great evening, best pub I've been to in ages. Most amazing stuff inside, a little like a military museum but in a good way. Great service and the best Rioja I've tasted in ages.
Definitely worth the 1 hour walk with my dog from my home. But even if you are walking in the neighbourhood this is a must stop on your way down from the Raddon tree or if your early you can do both. The hospitality is top knotch for you and your wel behaved dog.
Lovely Country Pub, Really Friendly Staff, Great Food And A Delicious Selection Of Ale.
