Stopped here because we had been turned away from two other Clacton pubs ( we hadn't booked anywhere) but it turns out, things happen for a reason. In this case the reason was that we found the best kept secret in Sunday lunches ever. I for one have paid a hell of a lot more for a roast not even hal
Had the most amazing Sunday lunch at the crown. The beef was super tender and lovely crispy roasties veg cooked to perfection, and staff friendly and on the ball. Nothing was too much trouble. Will definitely come back sooner rather than later
We go to the spa every year and for the last 4 years have always come to this particular pub. Every year it has got better and Sunday afternoon even though we had no reservation they made sure we had the chance to eat and couldn’t have been more welcoming. Staff were fab, the new decor is much nicer
If you're looking for a nice place to stop for a drink in a welcoming environment, including a car park and beer garden, then I recommend The Crown. New to us since lockdown-lifting we've enjoyed good beer and snacks, sunshine and banter. The children can play on the grass and the picket fence keeps
After a meal out last night, my fiancé and I popped into the crown for a quick drink but ended up stopping there due to how welcome we were made to feel. The owners are absolutely lovely and Mia who works behind the bar is a real credit to them, such a beautiful young lady, inside and out. Will defi
i have visited this public house on several occasions and noticed that due to the chefs food and new outlook on his investment in the pub it is changing into a place that you can get a good meal at reasonable prices. you feel comfortable and safe with the staff and the interior is shaping well from

First visit in quite awhile. Very friendly staff and a lovely decor in the back dinning area. We had a roast which I thought was very nice and a very good sized portion. I would certainly recommend this place to my friends.
Really welcoming staff and owners. great beer. Will definitely be back
Nice food, reasonable value, friendly staff, but a bit chaotic. Adequate car park. Old fashioned country pub. Outdoor seating and play area for children. I'd go again.
Great food, excellent service and very good value for money. Lovely to have proper home cooked Sunday lunch. Thank you , we'll definitely be back.
