Balderson's Welcome Cafe - Thornton-Le-Dale - Photo album

Stopped at the village on the way home for breakfast and decided on here for best option. Got a table easy and the breakfast came out quickly. There was a side dish of toast off the side of the picture of really good brown bread and soft butter, which everyone knows is how butter should be served. F
Lovely service and friendly staff. Prices are average not to expensive, plenty of tables to choose from too
Baldersons operate a row of shops on Thorton le dale including a bakery, coffee shop, gift shop and ice cream parlour. The business has been here years and I always stop off while visiting Yorkshire. My wife and I stopped off for a drink and sat in the patio area at the rear of the shop. You now ha
Went in for a full English breakfast and wasn't disappointed. Service was excellent and friendly. Clean and tidy with loads of seating. Will come here again when in the area.
Greetings, a summer experience not to be missed, refurbished inside recently, super but eating outside in the vine garden is wonderful. Don't miss out anymore, just go and try it on a nice day.
This review is based on two consecutive lunches. First was soup and sandwich and was very good in every way. Second I ordered steak and kidney pie with peas and chips. What I actually got was a steak and kidney stew with a piece of puff pastry. Definitely no pie!! This is in Yorkshire where we know
Very nice scones. Plenty of seating but not very wheelchair friendly. And the exit is through a gift shop which is unusual.
Popped in for a coffee and a snack this morning. Our first visit to Thornton le Dale. We found Balderstons and went in. Warmly greeted and shown to a table, ordered at the counter and brought our tray over. Surprised at how big the cafe was. Good menu choice, at sensible prices. Visited the well sto
Stayed in the village for a week, but only visited here once. Had a lovely lunch, but they would have had more of our business if it wasn't for a silly 'No Substitution' rule for breakfast. The Cedarbarn cafe (1 mile up the road) happily offered substitution so got all our breakfast trade.
I was disappointed with the food, lumpy cold mash potato, pastry not cooked enough, 2 cold jacket potatoes , it seems like it's going down Hill, not sure if it's new owners or a different chef. On the plus side , the staff were very polite and friendly and the place was very clean and well present
Thornton le Dale Hidden gem , Great selection of food , drinks & snacks super indoor and outdoor seating areas , 4 of us had lunch I had steak pie and for me it was the best I have ever had , lovely pastry with succulent tender diced beef and gravy complemented with chips & garden peas .My son had
love coming here for a fry up when in the area. Great portion size and quality of food!
Nice place, food good, service good, but be warned you have to do a lap of the gift shop to get out! 😁
Food was nice. The price for a small bottle of juice is overpriced. For what you're paying I think the customer is doing a lot of the work. The one way system to go in and out is ridiculous.
What a gem! A lovely locally run cafe. We had lunch there on a busy Sunday, but we were shown to a table quickly and the food arrived promptly. Lovely sandwiches and nice crispy chips. Great Coffee, too! You should pay this place a visit. Lovely adjoining gift shop, as a bonus on the way out.
