Great meal. I had regular cod, husband had jumbo haddock. We shared chips, peas and gravy. Good cup of tea. Came to less than '£30. Come here every time we visit Cleveleys. Nice friendly staff.

Food good, prices bit over the top, just short of 30 quid for 2 people, fish and chips, fish chips and mushy peas, 1 tea and can of sprite, (£1.80 a can!!!)

Have seen a number of positive reviews about this chippy. Even viewed one on You Tube so decided to take a drive and check it out. Easy enough to find with 2 large pay and display car parks directly across the road. Obviously this is nothing to do with my review of this business but pricing for the car park is far from user friendly. You can pay for one hour or three hours. One hour might not be enough for your meal. Three is obviously over long. A bit strange why the option to pay for two hours wasn’t available. Also although it’s just across the road the kerbs on both sides were quite high. Didn’t see any dropped kerbs so anyone in a wheelchair or with very limited mobility might have a struggle. Of course this is down to the local council. All the more annoying when they expect small businesses to make adaptations and provision for those with compromised mobility. There is a ramp up to the door into the chippy with a barrier offering a hand rail. Inside looked wheelchair friendly with no steps that I could see. They also had a disabled toilet. I didn’t use this but did use the men’s. Although compact it was very neat and tidy and the water from the sink nice and hot. We got there around 1.30 pm or so on a Tuesday afternoon in March and it looked busy. I think we just about managed to get the last free table. The menu is not extensive just good old staples for a chippy. Despite them being busy we didn’t have to wait long for our order to be taken. Unfortunately there were no specials on the menu and this was confirmed by the server. So I opted for large haddock, chips and curry sauce. With a can of coke and a slice of bread and butter. My brother opted for the regular cod with chips and mushy peas and a cup of tea. You have a choice with the curry sauce. You can have spicy or fruity. I opted for the spicy. We didn’t have to wait long for our meals to be served. The food was piping hot. I have to admit I have had better chips. But then again I have had a lot worse as well. However, my haddock was lovely. One of the best fish I have had in a long time. The curry sauce had a bit of a kick to it. Sometimes you didn’t notice it, then the next taste you could detect that spiciness. It was more suited to dipping your chips into. I think if you had poured it over your chips it would have been over powering. But some might like it like that. I had a few of my brothers mushy peas. Again I liked them. Prices seemed to be in line with other establishments and competitive. Our bill came to £27.85. I still think it would have been nice if they had a special on with fish and chips, a side order and a drink. Lot of other places do this and it all helps in these costly times. Portion size was very good especially my large haddock. It’s hard to judge the size difference of my large haddock compared to my brothers regular cod on the photos. Be aware the plate my meal came on was much bigger. And, as I said, I thought this was one of the nicest fish I have had in a while. I would go back to Kay’s fish & chips and I would recommend it. However, you might be wise to pick your time to visit. If it’s this popular and busy on a Tuesday afternoon in March what will it be like in the summer?

Takeaway fish and chips from our favourite chippy in Cleveleys. Lovely to sit on the promenade in the sun and enjoy lunch. There cheese and onion pies are really nice - not Hollands rubbish. They do have sit in but we had the dogs with us the weather was sunny and bright so easier to sit out. Still good value. Will be back

An old fashioned , unpretentious fish and chip shop serving brilliant food and drinks at good prices. Eat in or takeaway from the counter. Friendly and very efficient staff. Gets extremely busy at peak periods, which is always a good sign. A great place but relatively small seating area . Don’t expect the Ritz and you’ll be fine. Well recommended.
