We stopped off for afternoon tea, fabulous place, tea and cakes lovely, best carrot cake I've ever tasted! Great choice of food, definitely must revisit. Staff very nice! Had my 93 year old mum, they very kindly gave her a half portion of the yummy Victoria sponge which was a perfect portion for her! Food looks and sounds lovely, would suit us but mum prefers more of classic pIain menu, so prob suggest not suitable for all ? I may be wrong, the staff are so nice I'm sure they would adapt. Will def pop in again on next visit to my homeland.

Despite the number of times I have driven through Thornhill, I was totally oblivious to this gem of a place even existing. I love my coffee and my scones and both didn't let me down. The scone was a picture of perfection, firm on the outside and lovely and soft in the middle. My only disappointment was that I wasn't there for lunch as they had tomato and roast pepper soup, and also a daily special of haggis pie. Awesome. This place will definitely become my stop off for coffee on my way through Thornhill. The gift shop is huge and we'll stocked with great quality items too.

Me & the missus are regular visitors to the tearoom & have lunch on the outside table, accompanied by our wee staffie dog. The food is excellent! Our latest visit included a starter 'Apple & Parsnip' soup. The staff are friendly & shop is a good place to be for purchasing imaginative gifts...

Great food and a wonderful shop - what’s not to like? The only drawback is that we end up spending too much money here on lovely things. 🙄

A lovely place, friendly helpful staff, very clean, we stopped for coffee, can of Coke, had Victoria sponge, pancakes, bacon, maple syrup for £16.40p Lots to buy in the gift shop, books, jewellery, cards, candles, scents, and lots more. All in a historic building that used to be the Church Halls.

Perfect spot for coffee cake or light lunch. Set in a converted cavarneous parish hall, food is excellent and there's plenty to browse through in the boutique gift shop. To top it all, pet friendly

LOVELY CAFE IN SMART SHOP. Very tasty menu full of healthy, colourful options. Also has a good range of cakes and sweet choices. The prices for the quality were spot on. The premises has a high ceiling and mezzanine floor, giving a bright, airy feel. The staff were very cheery and helpful. All in all, well worth a visit.

We had the lunch special (Smoked salmon & cream cheese on a rusty roll served with salad and chips) and the Tapas plate, which were both delicious. A walnut coffee cake as dessert was a great ending. The staff are very nice and friendly and the craft shop in the cafe sells some interesting gifts.

We stayed for two weeks in a cottage near town and enjoyed our daily espresso or cappuccino here. The food is also great. Best service imaginable, super friendly and helpful! The store offers very neat and classy things, a nice variety of things you can buy here. We loved it!

Loved Thomas Tosh, a gem in Thornhill although it's on the pricey side Staff were absolutely lovely, helpful and welcoming. They clearly hire local youth to help out who could do with a bit more training, for example their communication skills need working on ....and one lad picked his nose before his shift started :D Anyway, that aside which didn't have an impact (as it's great to see they hire local youth), they focus on quality. The tapas was delicious and so was the coffee. Definitely worth visiting. The store side of things is WONDERFUL, everything is top quality and it's worth just looking at all the nice things they have in stock. Be aware that they don't put prices on all their products...we ended up paying for a medium jar of presto for £6, it better be good!

Taking tuna mayo sandwiches with salad to the next level. Fantastic food to tease the palate. A relaxing ambience. Attentive, friendly staff. Surrounded by shopping for home and for gifts. The ice creams were lovely too.

Travelling UK from Australia. This is easily the best place we've been to for tea and coffee. This is the first place that had proper tea leaves in a pot, and the first decent coffee hubby has had. The food was fresh and delicious and the service was fantastic.
