One of the most authentic curry house in the South country! Truly delicious food served with care. Ram is always smiling and happy to cater for traditional Indian cooking as per request. Soothing ambience and great location. Definitely worth trying.
5star meal - this place is different from your average curry house. Different tastes and non greasy. Lovely variety on the menu. Good quality food and service. Highly recommended 🍛
We came last Friday for a meal and were very happy with the good service, nice atmosphere and the quality of the food. Not greasy, very tasty North Indian cuisine. The tandoori chicken and vegetarian jalfreze were really nice. As was the traditional rice pudding for desert. Recommended.
Really really good, I have a takeaway from this place twice a month, maybe more but who’s counting. I would say this is a high end Indian and the quality of the delivery is excellent, warm food and on time. The owner is very pleasant and knows me by name which always helps with the hole experience. It is more pricey than your average Indian but for me worth every Penny. An asset to thornbury, keep it up.
For those who enjoy mainstream lager and 'three trick sauce’ curry this may not be to your preference. More a handmade cask ale, the deft use by a first generation Indian of fresh spices ads aromas, flavours and textures not seen in mainstream curry houses; even the dipping sauces are a wonder. Arrive empty to enjoy the samosas and rice pudding.
Truly a North Indian taste Restaurant. Food with rajasthan & Punjabi fusion in taste. If staying in Thornbury must visit Indian restaurant if you like good authentic Indian food. To add on that really good service by staff.

What a lovely surprise this turned out to be. I am quite fussy and find many Indian restaurants serve the same old dishes, most of which taste like each other.
This one is not one of them. The food is obviously made from scratch and tasted delicious. You could taste the spices and each plate was more delicious then the other. The owner was front of house and was super helpful when we asked about anything, making us feel really welcome.

Had an excellent meal here , enjoyed the chef's special of 7 starter bites and then had Lamb Rogan Josh with a fluffy and crispy Naan bread for the main. The curry was a perfect balance of aromatic and rich spices with just enough heat. Prices are a bit higher than your average 'Curry House' but I felt that the quality was well worth it.
We ordered a large takeaway this evening and the food was fabulous and the service was quick. They double checked our order to make we had everything (we had orders A LOT) The food seems much more authentic and much better quality than your average Indian. Definitely the best Indian in Thornbury.

Visited the Roobroo to have a meal in the early evening of 13th April. This was the first time ever that we have eaten at this restaurant and we would thoroughly recommend it. Many Indian restaurants have deteriorated since Covid Lockdown. However, the Roobroo is much better than most that you will currently find in the South Gloucestershire area and much further away. The food was exceptional and the quality was particularly good.
A friend and I ate there yesterday evening. The décor is a little different from the many stereotypical Indian restaurants which some might read as a negative. The food however was wonderful as was the service. The food was well presented, in a slightly classier style than is the norm. Although I'm not a foodie I was very impressed by the flavours of our dishes. The menu is not massive but what they do, they do well.
We got to meet the chef/owner who understandably took great pride in his food. Will definitely be back.
My partner and I are foodies! We've tried countless Indians before now and have never tried any as great as Roobroo. All spices are made personally by the owner on a weekly basis.. you couldn't get any fresher than that!
