The Ship is a very old inn that serves both classic and modern pub grub. The staff are friendly and helpful, and they treat children with the same respect as adults. The food is well prepared and served at the right temperatures. Not a noisy place which is ideal when dining with children.

Absolutely beautiful bar and restaurant to start, food is lovely, ever so slightly overpriced but worth it for the food you recieve so I won't complain, staff and extremely friendly and welcoming hats off to them all, atmosphere is relaxing. They also play music in there. The meal I had was the gammon and it was beautiful👌

We stopped in for a Sunday afternoon pint, a very nice IPA. It’s a large, friendly, comfortable boozer

Two nights in a row here and both nights superb food .Gareth served me tonight really friendly chap, interested in my views on the vegan meals I chose .So pleased to have these options the Keralan chic pea curry is my absolute favourite really tasty not over spicy and quite healthy.

I enjoyed a splendid father's day eve treat here with my son & his partner. Nice decor and comfortable furniture, good service from efficient & friendly staff. We simply chose several of the starters, and shared them as a tapas style meal. Absolutely delicious!

Late lunch (2pm) on a weekday. The place was very quiet. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Service was prompt. The food was very good. The sound system was broken, so no music, which suited us. Would recommend.

Welcoming staff, had a fabulous server who even told us about some of the building's history and showed us a haunted function room! Food was delicious! Good selection of drinks. And loos were clean and stocked with the necessities. Very happy!

We’ve just been to The Ship in Alveston and had really lovely food, I had the Sea Bass and Scallops on a pea risotto and husband had the Wild Boar Burger. We both had the Salted Caramel Sundae for dessert! Absolutely spot on meal. Thank you

Thoroughly decent pub with a good menu and selection of drinks. Service was very quick and efficient. Food was good for a reasonable price and the portions were generous.
