Came here for lunch today to celebrate our twin daughters birthday. Brilliant customer service which included making our fussy eater son a bacon sandwich and surprising the birthday girls with a sparkler dessert and everyone singing happy birthday! Highly recommend

During past few months we have had Sunday lunch here on couple of occasions. Amazing sums up the food and customer service. In the early Eve's on summer day it is lovely to sit outside on the green. Great place. Well done to manager and staff.

A fabulous birthday dinner tonight. One of the best meals I have had here down to the great menu, beef croquette starter and trio of venison main. I love winter menus and this has proved an amazing choice well done all. X

Went here on Sunday for lunch. There was a group of us, 10 of us in total. The staff were very friendly and attentive. The resteraunt was spacious and nicely decorated. Most of us ordered a roast. We waited about 30mins for food which was sooo worth it. Roast pork was delicious, huge yorkie puddings and lovely roast potatoes. I then had the chocolate indulgence for pudding which was amazing. Thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon. Thank you. Will definitely be back!

Absolutely love this dog friendly pub, lovely staff always chatty friendly. Most importantly for me they allow dogs in the pub area (well behaved) and even had some treats for him. Food was great- as always!

This is a lovely country pub. We went for Sunday lunch, and it did not disappoint. It was extremely busy but the service was good and the staff were very friendly. The fish and chips were enormous and piping hot. None of the items on the menu were expensive, but on the downside, the drinks were a bit pricey.

Good pub in the centre of the village. I had the foxy burger which was nice , but had a very big burger Pattie a bit too big to eat with ur hands but still nice. Service was fairly quick drinks took 10 mins and 30 mins for food. A good pub overall

Lovely food. Very generous portion. Haggis bon bon was lovely. So was the main - venison two ways and fish & chips. Very friendly staff. Noticed it was very popular with locals. Pity that we were too full to go for desserts.

Best village pub/restaurant in South Cambs/North Herts area! The pork Tomahawk with the chorizo and Cajun cream sauce is genius.

My friend's vegetarian Sunday Roast tasted lovely. I had some salmon and pollock with new potatoes and samphires. My fish was OK and my scallops were a bit chewy. I found the potatoes very tasteless. I wouldn't choose it again. My friend's Goats Cheese Tart was amazing, she really enjoyed it. Although her San Sebastian baked cheese cake was a bit burnt (it was black on top) but the filling was nice. I need to mention the customer service. All the girls were fabulous. They were smiley, polite and professional. All in all, it was a great place, I would give another chance hoping my meal was a mishap:)

My brother in law lives in the village and so 6 of us walked from his place to this local pub- and it's such an interesting place. The food was AMAZING quality and humungus portions, at a very fair price, and the interior is definitely pub-pub. The staff were great, the owner was lovely, the wine was wonderful. Will definitely be coming back again! I feel like if they cut down a little on portion size and cleaned up the interior to feel a bit more like a restaurant, they could really become a notable gastro-pub, just based on that food quality from the kitchen! That being said, they seem more than happen to just be a traditional local pub-pub and those are a dying breed that aren't owned by Green King- so maybe it's for the best!

We was very impressed by their home cooked food in this restaurant, the colleagues were very friendly and polite. We came here as they got such a good review and I can confirm that too.

Had a beautiful Sunday dinner, food was sublime and super fast service, but seemed to be ignored by staff as they were concentrating more on the bigger tables it seemed. Shame. We will try again when less busy.

Superb food , huge portions but thoughtfully prepared and presented which is lacking in most pub meals. Very friendly young team too. Just a bit hot inside.

We had a great Sunday lunch, for 6 of us, it was good to be able to eat later in the afternoon. The service was excellent, they were very helpful, The place was very busy, especially with the bouncy castle on the Green. Good to see a local business doing well

Went for the Elvis evening, it's really nice to have a local place nearby that does unique events such as this. There is also a cocktail selection that offers gin cocktails from local producers in Hertfordshire.

What a cracking pub in a fantastic village. The green outside the pub must be so busy during the Summer. My son and I were on our way back from a funeral in Rickmansworth. Luckily, we got there just before 2pm, that's when they stop taking main menu orders. The ladies behind the the bar were just the best, a little cheeky, but exactly what this pub needs. I had the gammon, thankfully without a tomato, or even, 'half a tomato' option. Where does that other half go?! My son had the fish and chips. We left nothing. It was so busy too, which isn't a surprise to be honest, even though it appeared to be a Greene King pub. I'm just hoping that the old fella on the table to the left of us was okay after his unfortunate coughing fit? The staff were just exemplary considering the situation.
