Step inside the front door to find out what this gem of a pub has to offer. A welcoming friendly place with all the charm of an old pub. But it's crowning glory was the food. All home cooked and delicious. Suited our different dietary requirements really well, particularly gf. Best pub food we've ha
Visited The Lion today. Really superb real ale, food and service. Great selection of beer, locally sourced. Excellent steak pie and nice friendly atmosphere. A must visit.
This pub is a great find, and it turned out to be conveniently just round the corner from our holiday rental. It was our first night, so naturally we didn’t feel like cooking, and with no booking, we effectively gatecrashed their Halloween party event with everybody, turning up brilliantly dressed u
Traditional pub with excellent food and service combined with a really friendly atmosphere and welcoming locals

Booked a Sunday lunch after a long drive we were looked after very well the food was excellent.
Popped in on off chance on tuesday evening as camping nearby. Warmly welcomed. Nice variety of beers and looked like a good choice of meals. Would happily go here in future in preference to other perhaps better known pubs in the immediate area.
Another great visit. We camp near by every year and walk here for lunch. Great food every time. Will definitely be back. Dogs enjoyed there biscuits to !! Thank you for your hospitality
Went for a roast on Sunday, the food was excellent, great seasonal veg, food was hot and flavoursome, can't fault it. The service was great, nothing more we could have asked for. We've been back since and planning on going again during our stay in the area.
Ooh this is such a good place, you should visit from all surrounding counties. For why, the beer is meticulously cared for and the food is fastidiously to die for. I was nearby for three days, went three times. Damn, got to head home now.
Very friendly and helpful staff Lovely food, many thanks
Great choice of real ale, nice to have a change from a pint of ghost ship!!! AND much cheaper!!! Friendly staff. Love dogs and happy to have them in pub . Sunday roast average, fish pie very good. Well kept, clean and obviously loved.
Fantastic pub, with a great selection of beers, ales and ciders. Unfortunately couldn't stay for a meal, but the menu looked very promising!
Had a lovely evening meal here. Homemade steak pie which was delicious. There was a good selection of beers, some craft ones too. Best to check the opening times, as they aren't open as much as pubs in bigger villages or towns. With friendly staff and a laid back country pub atmosphere, I recommend
Great pub with a large beer garden. This is a great local - a non-tied free house, it serves great beers & ciders. On my visit, there was a DJ in the garden spinning vinyl classics. Food was top quality as well. Recommended.
Lovely place. Just stopped in for lunch with the dog. Great beer and good. Ruth looked after us very well. I had the satay chicken skewer
The beers are well kept and there is a nice selection of different local and nationwide breweries. Although we didn’t get to sample the food as the pub was fully booked it looked and smelt delicious.
