Myself and my friend have been to many Japanese restaurants in the Brum area, and there are definitely some good ones there, but this was easily the most pleasant surprise in terms of how good the food was. Much smaller than ones I've been to - the staff manage to use that to their advantage by not just being a very friendly and pleasant atmosphere, but the care in their food, the presentation and most importantly the taste. :) I went traditional first with miso soup, and the 8 piece unagi maki set (which was amazing thanks to the wasabi mustard along with the soy sauce and wasabi itself) - I decided to go for something I haven't ever tried which was the Nasi Chicken more based on Indonesian spices so I wasn't sure what to expect... Boy the flavour was amazing. :) A good spice, as you can taste the flavour and has a good burn but not intense to the point that it is painful, generous with the chicken and quite filling, but not enough to not go for desert as we both picked the most unique option - the mango and pineapple gyoza (with vanilla ice cream of course :P) which was almost like melted fruit which you did them in mango puree and was like fruit diabetes. :) Very impressed, my friend had the vegetable gyoza and the chicken egg noodles, also loved it - she'll give the large ones a try next time - definitely would go again - a bit out of the way for me but worth it. :)

Called in here this evening on our way home to eat with our two young girls. They accommodated us straight away and had kiddie size portions available on the menu. The place filled up really quickly. Food was delicious, I had chicken teriyaki with egg friend rice which was plentiful. My girls really enjoyed their noodles too! My other half is hard to please when it comes to food and he really enjoyed his meal also. Pleasant staff, helpful with the children's requirements, one of our girls accidentally broke a glass and they were very understanding...Thankyou! Great little find for us not too far from home. I'm sure we'll be back! 👍🏻

Fantastic food, awesome interior and branding. This has got to be one of the finest eateries in Sutton Coldfield. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly, I can see myself spending many happy nights dinning here in Sushido.

After a long day at work today I decided to try Sushido for a second time. I had some Calamari & a Chicken Katsu Curry, both dishes tasted fantastic. Thanks for a great meal I will be returning soon.

Lovely takeaway meal , all the family enjoyed it ! Thanks. Restaurant needs some atmosphere though, a more thoughtful layout and choice of music. Some customer interaction would be nice but I'll be back for more as the food was delicious!!!

This was our 3rd visit to Sushido and they’ve recently made a few changes. We weren’t sure it could even get better, but it did! The new frontage is lovely and welcoming and we’ve been told there will be some changes to the interior too. We tried some new cocktails and were told about how they’re drank in Japan, their traditional drinks etc. The staff are very knowledgeable and the drinks were superbly light and refreshing. The updated menu has more focus and some traditional ingredients you don’t find in other places. We tried a large variety, including vegan ‘salmon’ sushi and my lord it was UNREAL! Everything was top quality and the flavours were delicate and punch all the the same time. If you’re a sushi lover this is the place for you.

A fantastic place to spend the evening dining. For sushi lovers and those who haven’t tried it yet, there’s a lot to love about Sushido. Catering to Vegans and meat eaters; the menu is huge and you won’t leave hungry!

Great food, atmosphere only lacked due to lack of seats filled so felt very intimate. Menu could benefit from images of food to assist with decision making - however staff were more than helpful with explaining and suggesting sufficient amounts to order as first time visiting.

Great atmosphere, lovely staff, great cocktails & delicious food! I came here for a lunch with a friend & we had a great time. The waitresses were very lovely, we were greeted as soon as we entered & shown to our table. We got to sit at the chef's table which was really enjoyable. Daniella was very helpful she informed me of the specials for the day & answered all the questions I had when I was deciding what to order. The sushi chef was friendly & helpful too he too made recommendations for us. My friend explained that she's not a huge fan of seaweed so he recommended the nigiri for her. Being sat at the chef's table was a really lovely experience, it was nice being able to see the food being made & interact with the chef. All of our food was plated beautifully & tasted delicious... the edamame beans were a nice nibble to start us off, the dumplings were really good (we had the chicken ones & the vegetable ones), the caterpillar roll was amazing it's definitely my new obsession & then we had the chocolate fondant to finish the lunch. I can't fault anything at all it was all great We will definitely be returning

A fantastic gem in Sutton Coldfield, the quality of sushi blew me away! We sat at the Sushi bar and watched our sushi being made fresh before our eyes. The pork belly starter was incredible, and the Sushido rolls are my favourite. The staff is knowledgeable and really helpful when deciding what to order; there is plenty of choice here. The sake is great, and the plum wine is beautiful! My friend was very impressed with the veggie options - the sweet potato and "Vegan" Salmon sushi roll was her favourite. I'm looking forward to my next visit, we are lucky to have this in Sutton.

I love this place. The food is so good and the staff are really obliging. My partner is celiac and we were worried about getting glutened, so the head chef (I think his name was Mat) sat us at his table so we could see all of our food being made. He was hilarious and everything was presented beautifully. We asked for cocktail recommendations and were presented with something I can only describe as angelic. 10/10 all day long.

Lovely little gem in the heart of Sutton Coldfield. Serves very authentic and tasty food. It is slightly on the more expensive side compared to other restaurants serving similar food, but worth it nonetheless. I would especially recommend the ramen, delicious!

I was initially quite surprised by the size of the restaurant, it was smaller than I imagined but I guess this facilitates the longer preparation time needed to make the food. This might make it harder to turn up with a reservation during busy times but we went at 8pm on a Friday and were one of the first people there. The restaurant had a very modern appearance with sleek lines and a well designed menu although the place perhaps lacks coziness because of this, my partner found the lighting to be a bit too bright. We ordered the duck spring rolls and pork belly starter both of which were very nice and well presented, although it did take a while for the food to arrive even though I think we were the only people being cooked for. ( It could possibly be they the place was also prepaing takeaway orders at the same time, although I don't know if they do that). I guess if you're looking for fast food you should look elsewhere as this place seems to focus more on fresh prep and presentation. I also had the vegetarian Pad Thai which was very tasty also and well priced at just under £10. I found the service to be polite and attentive. I was interested by the desserts but didn't get a chance to try them. Maybe next time. Overall a very nice, well presented meal at good prices.
