We love the food from the Bengal Lancer! Tonight’s Lamb Dhansak and Chicken Jalfrazi was absolutely delicious. Highly recommended.
I’d give the meal overall a 3.5 if I’m being honest, but I’ll rate 4 instead of a 3. They unfortunately don’t serve chips, they do some sort of potato though. Onion rice was nice, as was the pakora. Very nice Indian food. The dining area appears small but it easily held a party of 15 and a party of 12 and still had some tables for addition customers. The food was great, everyone was more than satisfied with the quality and quantity of each dish (not swimming in oil).
The restaurant is not licen
It's not your typical Indian restaurant. It's quite small, the walls are very plain, painted magnolia, with few decorations, so very basic. There was no music playing in the background either, so not the ambiance you usually get in an Indian restaurant. But the place was full (it was on a Wednesday)
Great food, great service! The quality of the meals was very high - nice meat, big serves, lovely naan. We found our curries sweet so maybe ask for less sweet if that is your preference (we had ordered mild dishes). The service was quick and polite and offered everything needed.
Nice food in a cozy atmosphere. Not licensed so you will have to bring your own alcohol to drink with your curry. Extensive menu. Good take-away service too.
Another lovely meal at the Bengal Lancer. delicious fish and veg dishes as well as chicken and lamb. byo booze keeps price £10 to £20 a head. thank you again Motosir, Mahbubr and Tunu.
Very good food, doesn't sell alcohol but you are able to take your own . We had a great meal here lots of choices on menu and very reasonable price . Will definitely go back when in area.
Good old school Indian restaurant. Nothing fancy just good food. Note, no drinks licence so take your own alcoholic drinks. Do not take own soft drinks, they sell them.
