A lovely traditional pub- with some stylish & contemporary touches to the decor. The team were welcoming, accommodating & friendly. We stayed over as we were visiting Chapel Down. Our front facing room was bright & comfortable (the bed seemed a bit smaller than king size though & mattress was a bit too firm for me). No noise despite facing on to the high street. Upon our return in the late afternoon we had drinks then dinner. The food was good & tasty- highly recommend the pizzas! The service was great. Breakfast was enjoyable too. I’d happily stay here again on our return visit to Chapel Down! �

Tenterden is lovely..but was over over charged for my beer £5.45.when i got second at £4.80.i questioned it...the lady says you just push button and price comes up so i could not have been over charged(basicly calling me a lier).only later did i realize i was charged for lemonade in my larger top..will be checking my change if i ever go again..lol

Popped in yesterday afternoon for food and drinks , the service was excellent , the food was lovely . Will be going back again .

Had a fabulous last minute stay at The White Lion. Enjoyed a delicious pizza and a couple of pints in the bar. The staff were all lovely and friendly. My room was large, spotlessly clean and had a big bay window. The bed was very comfortable and the room was quiet. Slept like a log! Currently enjoying a coffee from the Nespresso machine in the room whilst catching up on some paperwork, the Wi-fi works!!!!

Walked in on the off chance. Got really lucky. Food, staff and ambiance all excellent. Highly recommended

However, what truly set The White Lion apart was its outstanding staff. One person, in particular, deserves special mention - Mia. She went above and beyond to ensure our stay was exceptional. Mia's assistance in rearranging our booking and her help with transportation when we were unable to secure a taxi were lifesavers. Her friendliness, professionalism, and extensive knowledge of the area made our stay all the more memorable. We truly appreciate the level of care and attention Mia and the entire staff provided throughout our visit. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend The White Lion in Tenterden for a remarkable stay. The lovely rooms, superb food, and diverse drink selection are sure to please any guest. However, it is the exceptional staff, particularly Mia, that sets this establishment apart. Their dedication to making guests feel welcome and comfortable is commendable. My second stay in this quirky old pub and hotel. I love the breakfast, cooked to order, full of choice, and all delicious. Very friendly team. Lovely little town.

0n the 16th October my daughter had her wedding reception at the hotel and we hired out 11 rooms . I can honestly everything and all the staff where brilliant the food was lovely and nothing was a problem. The rooms were very nice clean and comfortable. Breakfast was excellent and I would recommend the White Lion and Hotel to anyone who was having a celebration 🍾

I’ll keep the experience to myself, but let’s just say it was bloody brilliant. 10/10 Best Pub in the known universe. Sue is my favourite. Theo is also my favourite.
