The fajita was amazing that good it's the best I have ever had. The staff were so friendly and attentive made it even more enjoyable. Thank you to the chefs, waiting staff and management for making this a place to talk about it love it xxx
A lovely pub in a good location in tenterden. Lovely large (and sunny beer garden)
Nice kids menu, we did forget to ask for the kids food to be served with the starters. Would have been nice to have been reminded (or asked), but that doesn't loose any points, it had just been a long day and exceptional service usually trains staff to ask if kids meals are to be served as soon as/first
Four stars as my reviews are based on gluten and dairy free dining.
There was one safe option which was lovely however if you are gluten and dairy free this bowl is your only option (a single visit would be fine but on a more frequent basis it would definitely be upsetting)
My previous visit, 6-8 months previous, the menu was different and I ordered a different dish (can't remember, might have been a vegan burger with no bun) the kitchen did make an effort to provide roast potatoes (no dedicated gluten free fryer for chips)
From a service point of view and knowing you are eating safely, it's 5 stars - from a variety/choice point of view, the star was lost here, but not sure what the demand in tenterden for a gluten AND dairy free diet is particularly high.
Standard dining seems to be of a good standard. Kids menu was well priced and as expected. The Sunday roasts are apparently extremely popular!
gluten free beer - bottled peroni, however they were out on our last visit.
We visited today, the place was beautiful, busy, welcoming, and dog friendly, I said my name, and the landlord remembered our email communications literally word for word!
The team there are worth their weight in gold.
The food was excellent, so delicious 10/10, my dog was offered his own plate, given a treat and given his own water bowl.
We can't wait to visit there again, the prices are well worth it. The food portions were very ample.
KEEP DOING WHAT YOU'RE DOING ITS FANTASTIC.
As always, we were in the local area and so looked out somewhere for Sunday lunch; decided on The Vine Inn as it looked good in the pics and had good reviews.
It's a lot bigger than it looks from outside, is very well done on the inside and there were a lot of staff who were all very attentive. We all had a roast and they were all great. The beef was well cooked and plenty of it, our junior diner had turkey which again was a decent size plate for a 7 year old. Even the Yorkshire puds were puffed up and crispy! We did order an extra portion of 'seasonal veg' which was okay but pretty sure mange tout are only seasonal in Africa this time of year!
The roasts were a touch on the expensive side, £19 for beef, £17 for turkey, but we're okay with that when the quality and taste make it worth it, which it did on this occasion. Add in the very good staffing levels who were all very welcoming and it made for a great visit.
We'd definitely recommend for a great Sunday lunch and if we were in the area again, be a difficult choice to go elsewhere!

Only stopped for a cold beer on a meltingly hot day. The pub is nicely set out. Friendly staff, we made our way to the garden. What an oasis. Almost continental feel to it. You can sit in the covered shaded area (us) or in the open. Ok, we didn't eat here, but drooled at some of the dishes coming out!
Great old pub with a nice interior . Evening meal with the wife as we where staying in the area .
Food was excellent, I had steak pie wife had linguine thoroughly enjoyable. Beverages ok reasonable selection value for money ok .
My only slight gripe £5 for a bread roll with butter ! Highly recommended
Great food and drinks pleasant staff lively vibe
I found this to be a very nice pub and the food was really good for the price.
Public wasn't rowdy , quite pleasant really.
Service was ok , I'm assuming that they were very busy as waiting for the drinks order with our meal ( I thought they had forgotten us) also we was waiting for ordering the puddings after and this was a bit of a wait that we changed our minds ( over 25 minutes)
I would definitely go again.
I don't think anyone would be disappointed.
We visited for a evening meal with friends . Our friends enjoyed there meal. My husband and I ordered the crab cake for starters. When it was served we both eate it and both said it tasty of potato but hardly any crab and there wasnt much of a sauce with it. My husband ordered Thai green curry with chicken. When he took his first bite the chilli was so hot and so much chilli cut over it all that it burnt his throat. He couldn't eat it and he told the waitress but nothing was done. My husband is used too eating madras but the amount of hot chilli added to this dish was ridulous. We were charged for the unadible meal and my husband went home hungry. Personally if it had been my meal I would have refused to pay for it or I would have expected another meal should have been offered.
We enjoyed a delicious meal at The Vine. The menu was wide and varied, offering a selection of traditional and modern dishes (mine was a delightful 3 culture fusion of cajun chicken, king prawns and linguine). Also, we received prompt service throughout. It's the sort of place you just wish was in your own village.
Had the nicest meal at The Vine inn the other night.. all food was piping hot and delicious.. I had the 8oz fillet steak cooked rare, which was devine!!! My friend had burger and chips, which she also thoroughly enjoyed! Highly recommend the loaded fries aswell!! Beautiful pub.. will definitely be going back!!
Amazing place for drinks and food. Served by the most loveliest gent Brannon, very attentive, helpful and polite even when clearly very busy and short staffed.
Couldn't ask for a better experience.
Perfect Sunday roast! Managed to accommodate us last minute which was great
The food was really good, the service was a bit slow. They were friendly but not really attending. Maybe because they were understaffed.
But give it a try when you're in the area.
Friendly staff, excellent service and the food was amazing. Well worth a visit
A nice and cozy pub restaurant in Tenterden. The good thing about this restaurant is, its spotlessly clean and vibrant inside out. The average waiting time to be seated could have been less however the service and food are very reasonable. The beef stew and the burger we ate was very delicious. I would recommend this cozy restaurant to anyone around Tenterden. Thanks.
One of my mums favourite places to have lunch when she lived in Tenterden. My son and I had been down clearing her house before completion of the sale and luckily got ourselves a table for a lunch. Set up for social distancing was spot on, lovely friendly greeting. Prompt service for drinks and food from chatty happy staff. Pub got busy for food service while we were there which was so good to see. Steak and ale pie, carved ham, egg and chips - perfect pub food and beautifully cooked. The lady with the strapped up broken fingers was a credit to you, great positive attitude & lovely personality ! I'm hoping this pub along with the other restaurants and pubs in Tenterden will be there for many years to come.
Loved the ambience, lovely outdoor seating with lots of greenery. Dogs allowed which is always a +1 for me. Very conveniently located next to a parking area. Our starters - nachos loaded with cheese and herbs - were good but the Sunday roast (pork) tasted stale. Good selection of beers, efficient service, but we felt let down by the mains.
Great pub/restaurant. Food was great, service efficient and friendly.
Air con a huge bonus 👌 also has a nice garden and good covered area. Definitely worth a repeat visit.
Food nice. I had confit duck leg which was delicious and the gravy thick and packet with flavour. But it came with a confit potato which was just a potato which had never seen any butter or stock. There was also a pile of wet & soggy overcooked spinach - quite unappetising.
I then asked for the cheese board and a glass of port. No cheese and no port! On the good side The Vine is a friendly place with a good atmosphere and all the waiting staff were proficient and attentive.
