Wow!! We’d had a day full of walking and adventuring... it was getting late and needed some well deserved fuel. We didn’t want a pub, we wanted a place that had good food that wasn’t too posh. (We we’re wearing shorts and trainers) This place ticks all this all the boxes: staff are super friendly, food is insane, atmosphere is casual and cool. It’s amazing! We had the shrimp tacos and the beef short rib... amazing! We felt welcomed, satisfied and very full. Go... go... go!

My sandbar experience Upon entry to the sandbar, Tenby, our ten person party received a warm and friendly welcome from the staff. Given the tantalising, and substantial menu, and not wanting to suffer the fear of missing out, a friend and I decided to share an order of fish tacos and the burger of the week. The food arrived, which was swiftly followed by the hardest erection I’ve had since my first viewing of fake taxi. The flavours I experienced on my stay at the sandbar were nothing short of a miracle. Imagine, if you will, a perfectly timed firework display accompanied by dramatic and emotion provoking orchestral delights. That’s what went down in my face hole. Avo mayo. Why not call it guac? Because it’s not guac, it’s jesus’ semen. I don’t mind telling you, this humble ‘burger if the week’ turned out to be the burger of my life. So, thank you sand bar, for opening my eyes, filling my belly and making my dreams come true.

To cater for 25 people is a bit of a challenge, so THANK YOU to everyone at Sandbar for successfully pulling this off and serving up a great selection of food (and drinks...!!). We must have ordered almost everything off the menu and nobody had a bad word to say. Fantastic atmosphere and vibe in here too. Thank goodness for Trip Advisor for highlighting Sandbar to me! Next time we’re in Tenby, we’ll definitely be back!

Sandbar is the only place where I have ever eaten three nights on the trot. I discovered it towards the end of a holiday last year and I STILL think about it, wishing there was somewhere like it nearer to where I live me. That’s just it though…there isn’t anywhere that’s quite like it, which is part of what makes the place special. Friendly and helpful staff, great portions of really good, unpretentious, tasty food with a definite American/Mexican vibe to it, plus an excellent selection of ales. My veggie partner and young daughter were fully satisfied too. For me, there really isn’t anything to dislike about this place, as long as there's a table free, and I'm looking forward to revisiting later in the summer...

Went here Sunday afternoon on a weekend stay in tenby, nice place, nice atmosphere, between us we had the beef burger (which is a slab of beef not a burger patty, absolutely amazing, wow) and the pork belly rib.... had the meat sweats just looking at it, just how I like it🤤🤤🤤 absolutely phenomenal taste, pork that just melts in your mouth🤤🤤🤤 Didn't get to try the beverages as I was driving but will definitely be arranging an evening there for food and drink next time... absolutely top notch food and friendly staff. Meals were reasonably priced got a good amount for under £20, can creep over £20 per person if you add sides and drinks but I think it is very reasonable and well worth every penny. 100% will be going back as soon as I can.

Best Sunday dinner ever! As a veggie most Sunday dinners are a bit boring but tap&tan’s take was incredible, full of flavour and massive portions. Their regular menu is also top notch🤤

Fab staff, very helpful and knowledgeable about their beers. The food was delicious! They’re dog friendly too, our pup slept on the bench for most of the time. We had a lovely evening, can’t wait to visit again soon.

One of two places to enjoy locally brewed beer in Tenby. You get to choose from a broad pallet of different flavors. Obviously you can try them before commuting to a full pint ;) There is also a grill-based food option that is co-located with the bar and also offers a broad variety of mostly meat-based dishes; which are tasty as hell! The Mac-and-cheese was one of our favorites and, although not vegan, is a solid vegetarian alternative to the meat-fest ;) We went there twice in our only 10 days lasting stay. Which, giving the variety of options you have in Tenby, should tell you all you need to know ;)

Wonderful fresh and quickly delivered food. Easy system. Turn up. Find space. Order at food serving area and get drink at bar area on way back to table. Food is DELICIOUS. We all had different. Pulled pork, potatoes, mac n cheese. Mmmm. Highly recommemd.

We found this by accident wandering the streets of Tenby on a long break. After gawping at everyone’s food through the surrounding windows (it is down an alley, so it wasn’t weird to do that) we walked-in and were seated straight away. (You buy your drinks separately to your food at the bar). When you walk up to order your food there was a guy right there over a grate methodically applying a sauce to a huge slab of steak cooking over hot coals. (My mouth is watering writing this remembering back). When my ‘rib’ arrived, it was only one, but it was taken from a Rhino or something it was that huge & thick. We also ordered the chicken wings and ham hock & black pudding croquettes. Both equally exceptional. Great service & fantastic food. Five stars from us. When we come back to Tenby, we’ll come back to you without a doubt.

Good place, friendly staff. Now, me and my girlfriend went for the £50 platter, which says for 2 and we were drooling like Homer Simpson at all the meats and flavours, but really you're talking 3-4, unless you really wanna be bloated (they do offer doggie bags but depends on how well your leftovers 'keep'), so just be aware of that and pace yourself, chew properly etc! I think my favourite bits were the sausage and whatever godly stuff they glazed the chicken wings with. Beef a little hard-going and might have been better as pulled beef. Salady/slaw stuff fairly nice. Good selection of drinks if you like your ales, sours etc.

We had a look on Google for a bar to start the evening in this wonderful town of Tenby. There isn’t much beyond here for a drink or food and the rating is very good. We walked past it to start with as it’s set back from the road but once inside it had a really good feel about it. However, this is not a pub. It is a restaurant with craft beer bar and an expensive one at that. The beer is supplied in continental sizes too but not in centilitres as you would expect but as a third or two thirds of a pint. Having said that, it was very busy and while we enjoyed a strong continental type beer or two we noticed the wonderful meals that were emerging from the busy grill kitchen! We grabbed a menu, picked a table that had now become available and placed an order at the kitchen. It isn’t cheap but, there’s plenty of it and it’s very tasty. The accompanying salads and slaw are fresh and tasty. The sauces pull all the food together to make this a very enjoyable experience. This is a popular restaurant and is frequented by young families with loud, sugar infused children at certain times although it does lessen as the evening grows and becomes more of an adults place. Great place.

Really delicious beers and awesome food. We came for lunch one day and came back for dinner. Small menu, but that’s a good thing as what they do they do really well. All cooked on an open BBQ. We had the smoked beef bun, chicken wings and corn on the cob. Good looking veggie options too. The beef bun was beautifully tender and had great flavours- especially the dipping gravy. Finished off with the sticky toffee pudding with rum and raisin ice cream. Wish we had one where we live!

What a great bar! We found out about this place from the brewery shop. They serve the brewery beer as well as some other local breweries in flights, two-thirds or pints. The drink selection for those who don't like beer was also a good mix of local spirits. The food is done by a different company and has a great selection of barbecue. Staff were super friendly and the whole place has a laid back vibe.

A great chilled out, quirky and tasty restaurant with a great atmosphere, in a popular part of Tenby. The food came quick and was excellent. We ordered locally sourced gin and beer, which was a highlight, the hammerhead IPA is worth a try. Food wise I had the ribs which fell off the bone and the dirty fries were probably the best fries I’ve ever had. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. I’d definitely recommend this to anyone and will be returning soon.

This place is a must if you're in Tenby. The selection of beers is brilliant, and the food was something else. The meat was all cooked to perfection. The atmosphere is really lively too. It's a great night out.
