Searching for a pub lunch on way back to Bristol from Poole. Happened upon this one by chance and it was the best pub lunch I have had in years. Steak and Ale Pie, homemade with lots of good quality beef. Veg all cooked to perfection and everything served hot. The Sticky Toffee Pudding was so unbelievably light. On top of this all the staff must have been taking "happy pills", so friendly and welcoming and the beer was pretty good too. Definitely worth a visit
had a surprise 50th meal booked for 17 of us last night, (3rd meal here this year). great food as always, fantastic service and everyone so cheerful and friendly. i took a cake , which they lit the candles and brought to the birthday boy , with the staff singing happy birthday, great night, thank you virginia ash.
We love popping into our local, Shaun and the rest of the staff are just so friendly and welcoming.
As for the food .....well I must say it's outstanding we have never had a bad meal in there, generous portions and cooked to perfection, when we have family down from Essex the first place they want to eat out at is "The Virginia ash" ......will be back to visit again very soon.

Having previously experienced a disappointing meal we decided to try again as heard was under New Management we booked a table for 7 on Tuesday night and were welcomed as soon as we walked through the door the food and service were really good the icing on the cake was the fillet steaks were to die for cooked exactly how we like and served with chips mushrooms tomatoes and a tasty salad my mum has a small appetite and asked for a vegetarian omlette (not on the menu) no trouble it was light and fluffy top class meat who is your Butcher???we were so impressed that we have booked for Sunday Lunch
We called in for a roast on our way home from Devon, I could not fault it at all. The food was great and well worth the money. I highly recommend a visit
Never been disappointed by meals and now the new owners have surpassed expectation. Everything is beautifully cooked and served. The menu has been expanded and there is a whole raft of specials. Nothing is too much trouble - always ask.

We had a small gathering for my daughters 1st birthday and it was a perfect setting. We had food and drinks from the lunch menu and the team made us feel welcome. Would highly recommend.
Who ever has taken over knows what they are doing. Friendly and attentive staff and the food is of a very high standard. In fact lovely food! We will absolutely be coming here again and the prices are reasonable. Can’t rate them enough. Thank you for a fantastic lunch yesterday 🥰
Great food great everything really, just a note to owners/ management get sharper knives for customers, great cooking of carvery meats but knifes make it difficult to enjoy . The only reason I gave 4 stars.
Went here to have Sunday Dinner. The staff are very friendly. Large selection of food at a reasonable price. Being a vegetarian, plumped for the Nut Roast. They make the best I have ever tasted. When inquired was told that it is made by the owner herself, superb. Lovely relaxed atmosphere. Disabled friendly car park, small step to enter premises. Would highly recommend
Brilliant rest stop on my motorcycle journey from Plymouth to London. I had a generous portion of Halloumi chips with a pint of soda water at the bar, just what I needed for the last 100 miles!
We literally saw the sign for the Victoria Ash at the junction next to it and decided to have lunch. BIt was a Sunday so it was very busy but we had a lovely meal and if we're ever that way again we visit again. Very nice atmosphere altogether very glad we stopped that day. Would recommend to anyone 😊😊
We had a really good Sunday lunch with home made pudding. Really good value carvery and desert. We will be booking again soon
We have just been for a breakfast, all the food was beautiful and fresh and very high quality produce, the staff were very friendly and welcoming on arrival.
When we had finished our breakfast and paid the bill we was given our receipt to take to the meat truck outside where we was given a free joint of beef.. 😋😋.
Highly recommended to everyone as great value for money.

Went here for a Supercar meet for the first time yesterday, a lovely pub both inside and out, will definitely return for a meal soon! Friendly staff and a great atmosphere on the day :)
