I was looking for somewhere to take my daughter for a cream tea, whilst on holiday. Was hoping to find a sweet, traditional style cafe as I think a cream tea deserves such a setting. We stumbled across Tea by the Quay and it was everything I was hoping for. We were waited on by a friendly waitress. The tea was served in a lovely old fashioned tea pot. The scone was served warm with a good amount of jam and cream and was reasonably priced. It was simply perfect!

A lovely place to have a cream tea. A really pleasant cafe with the best scones. The tea is served in traditional cups and saucers along with warm scones, wth a ' just been baked ' taste. The menu choice looked fab but we only had cream teas.

Called in whilst in the area, had a lovely cream tea for two from china tea pot.Traditional without being old fashioned and fussy. Scones were warm with generous cream and jam. Lady who served us was welcoming and friendly.Recomended and will be back when in the area.

Whilst visiting Teignmouth last week, we popped into this cosy tea room. The owner and staff were very friendly, pleasant and attentive. The service was excellent and the food was of very good quality. We will be returning and would definitely recommend a visit.

Visited twice over the Easter weekend. Lovely inside nicely decorated, staff all very well presented too. Very clean, service excellent, polite, helpful & friendly staff. We had various things off the menu including homemade soup, cake, sandwiches & pot of tea served in pretty bone china pot & cups & saucers. Families with children & dog owners welcome. Would highly recommend.

On our visit to Teignmouth in Devon we popped into this lovely little cafe for a bite to eat and a drink, the staff were welcoming and the service was very good with our order brought out to us quite quickly,I had a ham and cheese toasty and the Mrs had cheese and tomato both came with salad and coleslaw...all washed down with a lovely cup of tea..it was very enjoyable..can recommend this place if you are a bit peckish...👍

Absolutely amazing breakfast. Cooked to absolute perfection our new favourite cafe. Love the fact that you can have a pot of tea made with loose tea, brought back so many lovely memories of my childhood and using a tea strainer lol

Went here for coffee this morning. Had lovely lemon drizzle cake and it was delicious. Ended up going back for lunch which didn't disappoint. Nice clean and fresh. Staff were lovely too. I'd like to say a huge thank you to the young lad who came chasing after us in the street as I left my water bottle behind. Great service. Highly recommended 😊😊

Lovely cafe, new owners who have re-named and re-furbished it. The decor is really nice, tasteful and festive. Cakes look amazing and scones are massive! I had a toasted teacake done to perfection with a whole pot of butter, so generous😀 much better than a couple of portion sized. Lovely big hot cup of coffee, great to have a large cup. Owners come from Preston, Paignton where they had a cafe for 7 years. They try to cook everything on site and all looks wonderful. Well worth a visit. Covid restrictions in place😀

What a hidden gem. Myself, a friend and our 1 year olds were planning on a Sunday afternoon coffee and cake, but forgot our planned spot closed at 3pm. We wandered around the corner and spotted Tea by the Quay. It was 3pm and we weren't sure if we'd be welcome, but gosh were we! Greeted by a friendly waitress, we were shown the table we could have. We went to order, and had the hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows, a vanilla latte and 2 slices of the Victoria. Everything was delicious, especially the cake which was obviously made with love. I am so pleased we've found such a wonderful little place, we can't wait to return. It speaks volumes when 2 toddlers feel at ease in somewhere to eat.

We arrived just as they closed, the guy realised that we were looking for a cream tea and he pleasantly invited us to come in despite them having just closed. What great customer service! The cream tea tasted as fresh as if it had been the start of the day. I could type many superlatives about the food but lets just say it was amazing. Also dog friendly too - bonus!
