This was our first time dining at the Annex and it won’t be our last! Amazing plant based menu for tapas and gorgeous setting with a relaxing atmosphere and service. Often we find at other restaurants that the plant based options are lacking, with our own vegan dishes coming out on top when we cook at home. However, we could tell that the chef at the Annex enjoyed creating these fantastic choices for the plant based menu as much as we enjoyed sampling! So unique and tasty! Couldn’t fault anything. What a find!! Cannot fault anything about this place, the staff were friendly and helpful, the food and cocktails were incredible, so much variety to choose from and it has a lovely vibe. And a real bonus for us that they allowed our dog to come with us as we couldn't leave him in our accommodation so wouldn't have been able to visit this gem of a restaurant without him. Thanks for a lovely evening, I'm only sorry I was too full to sample more dishes.
A lovely place in Tavistock to visit. The restaurant is nestled on an incline with beautiful views of the town and beyond. The tapas was great, though the pea and mint fritters could have done with more seasoning. Patatas bravas was very tasty (fried and slightly crispy) with a spicy tomato sauce. Houmous was smooth with a crispy flatbread. The fig and goats, though strong in flavour was rich and creamy. The service was friendly and attentive.
Heard a lot good reviews about The Annexe so thought we would try it out . Their service and food definitely deserve everything good said about the place .We ordered 10 different plates of tapas and every single plate of food was exceptional, truly stunning ,well presented beautiful food .The service was first class .
It is a lovely venue for a special night out as a couple or a family celebration. The welcome is warm, and you are not rushed. The tapas menu covers all tastes and encourages you to explore foods you may not of experienced before.
Stunning food, great atmosphere and excellent service. Loads of vegetarian and vegan choices. Fairly priced. Great view from both inside and the terrace. Excellent drinks selection with an enormous wine list. Dogs allowed. Highly recommended.
I think that the food was delightful, it was great tapas. The people that serve you are always happy and friendly very good service. I think that it is a great atmosphere. The rooms are really nice, I would definitely come here again.
What a lovely meal! Delicious, thoughtful tapas. Almost every mouthful packed with flavour, the only dish that lets us down were the scallops - bland and tasteless. Lovely service and ambiance too.
Lovely looking place with a cosy, relaxed atmosphere. The staff were friendly and provided a great service. The drinks and food were absolutely delicious too! We had 6 tapas dishes, a strawberry daqiri and a passion fruit martini. Highly recommend.
A great place for delicious tapas food and one of the best places for cocktails too. Have been a few times and can't fault also they do delicious vegan tapas with a great choice too. Service is always very attentive so can't fault. So highly recommended.
My wife and I enjoyed a very tasty lunch here. The service was good. Well mannered and polite staff are rare these days, so we were impressed with that. The food was excellent, well presented and piping hot. We would definitely recommend this restaurant.
We had an early dinner here this evening on our way home after a walk on the moors with two fidgety kids. The staff were friendly and super accommodating. The food was delicious, highly recommend
First time visit for a birthday meal out, found this place by searching online and boy did it exceeded expectations! Stylish, sophisticated vibe with plenty of drink options. Really good choice of tapas dishes and the food was delicious. Staff professional, welcoming and friendly. Lovely outdoor areas for when weather warms up! Can't believe this place is in Tavistock... what a find! Will definitely be returning.

The Annex had been recommended by a friend as being a good place to visit for a tapas meal, so we decided to give it a try.
The restaurant is difficult to find as it's location up Drake Road off the centre of Tavistock is not signposted until the entrance itself. Even then you think you have stepped into a residential car park. The Annex is inconspicuously located up a short path to the left, but still it's not shouting "I'm a really good tapas restaurant!"
The decor inside is an eclectic mix of marble tables with 60s & 70s chairs. The art work is classical but quirky. There are two outdoor seating areas overlooking different views of the town. There's a good feel about the place and I'm sure it's buzzing when the restaurant is full.
The lunchtime tapas menu was varied and reasonably priced as was the drinks choice. The full wall display of alcoholic beverages is heavenly and I want one at home.
The service could have been better. Despite three waiting staff being on duty there was a wait for our drinks to be delivered to our table and we had to ask to place our food order. I just feel the staff could have been more attentive, especially because the restaurant was not busy.
Overall, a good choice of delicious tapas in stylish surroundings. Yes, I will visit again.

Best tapas and cocktails ever! A lovely evening out at The Annex with a drink outside before food in the restaurant area and we were pleasantly surprised. Tavistocks gem of a venue offering excellent tapas, great quality food and first class service. The team were fantastic and the bar guy produced excellent cocktails. Our best night out in Tavistock to date and we will be back with friends and family! Thanks for a wonderful experience 🙂
