Popped in for a couple drinks while staying at a nearby campsite. Staff very friendly & welcoming. Sat outside in courtyard where our pouch could explore. Landlord very friendly and even gave time for a chat. Drinks were good & reasonably priced.
Definitely will return again.......
Brilliant food, *dog friendly*, would highyly reccomend one of the burgers or the butter chicken (great flavour, pretty hot) the steak and ale pie was to die for. Worth driving 270 miles for! Lovely place, warm and welcoming, friendly staff, you cannot go wrong here. AMAZING.
A very warm and personal welcome with excellent service and great food and drink. Highly recommended, worth trying any of the dishes. I had the paté (twice) + the pork roast on a Sunday and the fish pie 5 days late. Certainly no disappointment 🍺🥘
The warmest welcome! After a long drive from Brighton, the landlord and his staff made us feel so welcome and at home, we felt we had landed in safe harbour after hours on the road. Beautiful green setting, with the sound of bird song and river, a toasty log stove roaring in the hearth, home made chicken and leek pie made by a very charming chef. The best introduction to Devon we could have experienced. Exceptional service from every person we met. Thank you :)
Very welcoming and took our needs into consideration considering we were eating outside (under COVID rules), under cover and heaters. Lovely food considering a limited menu. Would definitely go back when restrictions are lifted. Thank you.
Lovely food really enjoyed it the staff were really friendly and helpful. The only downside the price of the drinks £2 for an orange squash and water I think is a little steep to say the least and £7.75 for a large glass of Sauvignon Blanc is the most I've ever paid.
A cute, dog friendly pub with fab food. The staff were so attentive to humans and dogs. They offered my dog biscuits three times.
Food was delicious and freshly cooked. I had a Cornish dark stout, it was scrummy. Not often you get a dark stout on tap. It was like a meal in a glass.
Toilets were so clean, with lots of potions n lotions you don't normally get in pubs.
Plus for those with small children, they also had a low height child's toilet. Again never seen that before.
Go for food, drink or both, you won't be disappointed
Have never been this satisfied with food on my life. Staff are very friendly and even if they don't have what we wanted the endeavour to recommend what's closest to it. Thanks for this great dinner guys. You will see us again very soon!
Best pub meal I've ever had! Food was simply amazing. Great service. But it was the little touches and well thought out facilities that really make this pub restaurant stand out. So family friendly. Well worth a detour from A30 or A38 if you're travelling through Devon/Cornwall! You won't be disappointed.
Beautiful pub. Have been going there for years, each time we are on holiday. Wonderful food, great ambience, very clean. Excellent children's area upstairs with lots of gaming consoles and drawing corner. Also a lovely selection of toys for younger children.
"Jabbed Arms", the humourously named courtyard bar. Lovely little pub with a large car park opposite. A conventional bar is entered from the road but weave your way to the courtyard and enjoy the wonderful hospitality of the staff. We had sandwiches and salad plus a coffee, it was midday and I was driving.
Had a great lunch out here today. Have always socialied our bearded collie pups here over the years with positive results with various owners. Today was really great with excellently cooked meals for us humans and a surprise plate of sausages and gravy for our bearded collie Tameika! Only criticism would have liked thicker chips. Will be back!!
We love the Trout and Tipple. We come out for early drinks on a Friday and sometimes a meal. The food is unpretentious and honest pub food, and we always enjoy it. I prefer the mains to the deserts. The beer is really good. What we love is the atmosphere and many locals are really friendly. Iris loves it that there are often cute dogs to stroke too. A real bonus for Iris in summer is walking across the road to see the trout leaping out of the ponds for a tasty snack. Best of all are Matt, Haley and their staff; they are delightful and so friendly, Iris loves them and that makes it a great pub for us!

We stopped in briefly as we were walking into Tavistock. We did plan to eat, but it was out of serving hours. No problem, it was only around 3:00pm so we did wonder if we would be able to - we'll come back again some other time.
We had a pleasant chat with the girl behind the bar, who was happy to recommend somewhere else to eat in Tavistock a bit later.
Nice friendly pub.
