Enjoyed an excellent lunch today we enjoyed sitting in the sunshine, served by pleasant staff who served good food reasonably priced. I had the herb crusted salmon served with fresh veg cooked to perfection. They have never let us down.

I had a Vegetarian Mezze Board which was delicious, the griddled Mediterranean vegetables where sublime! We greedily devoured the blackcurrant parfait with Cornish clotted cream and the newly added Hot Raspberry over Vanilla ice cream. We enjoyed the excellent coffee in a relaxed environment, with friendly efficient service and really good food, just the perfect combination and everything one wants in an eatery.

Fantastic cafe. We had fish n chips & burger n chips for main. We loved both dishes, burger was especially really nice, thick n tasty. No greasy chips here. Coffee, walnut & carrot cake for afters carrot cake was to die for. Defiantly be visiting again.

Bloody smashing breakfast & nice hot coffee. Great spot by the river, even on a dull day the area at the back of the indoor section opening onto the decking is nice & bright. Lovely friendly service. Will definitely be back to try out the limoncello spritz when I'm not driving!

Go every Monday, the best breakfast in Tavi in my opinion. Perfect for a quick meal or a long chat with coffee. Scones are also amazing and generous with the jam and cream!

When we visit Tavistock, we always go to the East Gate Cafe, for a superb breakfast. And their Milk Shakes are wonderful.

Scrumptious! Good food made with love! Started with an indulgent hot chocolate and a generous deep flavoured slice of carrot cake. Had the full breakfast which was as good as if i had cooked it myself.. Sublime!

Totally spoilt with the constant influx of dogs. Not assistant dogs just pets. Awful, and i like dogs in the right place

Always a good experience, a very popular venue so can get very busy. I visited on a day teachers were striking and a vey large number of people (including me) arrived within a very short time for lunch. Waiting time obviously lengthened, but the staff worked flat put and kept things moving.

Lovely Cafe next to the river in Tavistock. Great food - meals, or just a snack. Reasonable prices. Outdoor seating too, if you want to sit by the river.

Visited with family a few Sundays ago. Have to be honest and say that although the images of the outside look good, and it is, the inside is akin to more of a greasy spoon cafe. I don't say that as a bad thing at all, just something to be aware of if you want to make it a little more special, make sure you book outside. Food wise - It's probably my fault for ordering an Indian from a greasy spoon brasserie type establishment. Chicken was very tough and rice dry and clumpy, enjoyed my son's kids meal more! Wonderful staff here, everyone more than happy to help and actually look like they enjoy working there! Caters well for toddlers and young kids. Would visit again, just wouldn't have a curry there.

Due to staff shortage we had quite a wait for our food, not their fault, but when it came the battered fish looked over cooked and my panini was cold. But due to wait didn't bother to say anything. The wait for our drinks was quite long as well! I was quite sad about this because I've always had great service and food here in the past and took my visiting family there for lunch. This hasn't put me off as I'm sure it's a one off.
