It had been a while since I have been in a Toby Carvey, it unfortunately wasn't for me - but I was glad trying it after many years of absence. If you are looking for a quiet, no-atmosphere kind of restaurant and just looking for a meal for yourself or some friends, here we go!
First time to the Toby Carvery. Went at 7pm on a Saturday evening. Booked in advance. The servers were absolutely amazing, very polite and nothing could be too much trouble, really made you feel like you were valued as a customer. We had the carvery, very reasonably priced. Place was clean, tidy, staff were polite and welcoming. One of the ladies toilet’s was out of order . Food was absolutely delicious. Some of the lower areas that we were sat in need a little more light . Looking a bit tired decorative wise although new jug frames had been installed.
Staff were really helpful and friendly, veg for carvery had been hanging around a while the peas were shrivelled up, the cabbage was dry and crispy from being under the lights too long and the cauliflower cheese was just mush left, all the veg was luke warm. Had a lunch pit stop, front door is round the back, under a trellis. Was a nice carvery everything was nicely cooked. Meal was a good price but soft drinks a bit pricey. It's traditional value carvery.
