Walked in and really friendly, wasn't busy but not many chippys I go in that are at lunch time unless they in Town centre.
Prices seem excellent, I haven't had regular chips for under £2.50 in a very long time. Reg chips and jumbo battered sausage for less than a fiver is rare now days. Chips are nice, super good portion size, sausage nice and batter was just right, not to much or too thin and nice little crunch.
If I'm this way again I will stop for sure.
2 hungry workers went in for a proper portion of chips to share, we didn't get let down at all. The place was spotless and the staff were very friendly. Thanks lads, keep up the good work.
Amazing gluten free fish and chips! I was the first time in years since I've had a fish and chips and I'm so happy to be able to eat it again. The service is great and the quality of the food is fantastic.
This place continues to impress me with portion, cost and now recyclable containers! Yes! Cardboard dishes and cup for the food and mushy peas!!! No more polystyrene flavoured food from melted trays.
Driving down the M5 to Devon. Suddenly had a chip craving. Detoured in to Taunton and found the Star, so glad we did. Open in the day, massive portions of chips and lovely staff. Highly recommend!

As usual top quality I wouldn't go anywhere else. Only place that knows how to cook fish & chips properly.
Haven't been here for a while due to covid. Hasn't changed a bit .Still the same excellent smiling helpful service and still the best fish & chips in Taunton. To top things the girl serving recognised me even with my mask on.

First time I ordered delivery from this chippy. Haddock very tasty and batter crisp. Chips tasty too and good portion. Definitely order again and recommend.

Excellent food, especially as it was gluten free with a wide range of options available and no extra charge for this. The service was very friendly and welcoming both in person and on the phone with card payments accepted. All the gluten free food is cooked in a separate fryer, cooked fresh to order and was only waiting around 10 minutes. Highly recommended as the food was really nice, full of flavour, and not greasy at all. Was labelled as gluten free with stickers and wrapped well. If you are in the area, give it a go!!
Me and my partner decided to order on Uber eats. And the best fish and chips we have had in a while. Definitely will order again! Brilliant portion sizes good prices! Good quality!!
Wonderful shop with friendly staff and great food. We have to eat gluten free so are really happy that they have a gluten free menu and that they use a separate fryer for this. That they use Ubereats is a real plus.

Don't often have fish & chips as most are disappointing. Found Star on goggle so after reading reviews decided to give it a try.

Fancied fish & chips so back to the Star.
What can I say except as before great service huge piece of well cooked fish and massive portion of chips. Makes a real change to go back where you have been before and find its still as good. This is what let's down most food places in this area.

Amazing! Our favourite fish and chip restaurant by far. Always cooked great, and portions are huge! It's always busy, which is a perfect indication of how good it is.
Delicious, although quite pricey as ordered through UberEats, but would definitely have again. Best fish and chips in Taunton!
Totally the best fish and chips in Taunton. Portions are incredibly huge. They cook the fish perfectly. Crispy on the outside yet milky soft in the centre. You will not be disappointed.
I love this shop but ordering with ubereat is so expensive. £9.50 for large fish and £5.10 for cheeseburger, £4.00 for large chips is extortionate so have stopped using them
The best fish and chip shop in Taunton. The prices are reasonable and the portions are massive! You can order via telephone and they accept cash or card payments. Can get quite busy at times, but worth the wait.
