Nice pub close to the M5. My beef burger was a bit burnt so i had to remove small sections but nothing crazy. Desserts were amazing with the homemade cheesecake as my favourite. The brownie is also good. Familiar environment woth a nice outdoors area for the summertime
Good pub and place to eat and have some drinks. We had a burger and a chicken salad. The desserts were really good and a homemade cheesecake different every week. This was white chocolate and baileys. Really recommended and nice and efficient staff.
After getting settled in the nearby Travelodge, we went out for a evening meal and found this lovely pub a few yards away. Staff are very welcoming and friendly and the pub is one of plenty of character. We looked after by the lovely Leah and made sure was ok during our meal. Food is of high quality and good sized portions for the money. A good selection of drinks are on offer. They have plenty of rooms with seating and a lovely beer garden as well. Plenty of parking at the back of the pub.Fully recommended. Fantastic service.
Needed a break from driving north on the M5 and found this delightful pub just off junction 25. It was next to a shopping site with a Sainsbury’s selling fuel for a lot less than motorway prices. The staff were friendly and welcoming. We decided to try a dish of garlic prawns and a dish of calamari and a bowl of chips. All three were well presented, hot and delicious. We sat in the garden soaking up the UV and relaxing from the journey. We will definitely make this a regular watering hole when we pass by again.
Lovely pub! Staff were really helpful and couldn't do enough for you. Food was absolutely lovely. None of this microwave ping stuff. 2 of us had burgers and the other had the fish and chips. The burger was freshly made too which was to die for. The piece of fish was huge and had chunky chips and looked really tasty.
Ate here whilst travelling to Cornwall for hols before the Bank Holiday in August. I emailed them earlier in the week explaining we were staying nearby at the holiday inn and would have a dog with us. Fast reply and table booked in bar area. Faultless experience- good food, friendly staff and nice drinks selection. Dog was given her own water bowl and some attention from the service team.
Had a lovely meal here. The food was delicious and the service was excellent. Highly recommended!
I don't think I've ever eaten such tasty food, I certainly haven't in years. Add to that the fascinating architecture and the lovely staff and it was an extremely pleasant day out.
Although it's in a surprising area there is a very nice riverside walk close by and the proximity to the motorway is very helpful (for me anyway) I will certainly be going back when I am in the area.
So this place is situated off J25 of the M5 heading into Taunton on the right just inside the retail park, its a lovely looking 16th century old farmhouse converted into pub/restaurant, apparently its Taunton best kept secret, its so lovely inside with plenty of seating and they were busy, nice outdoor seating area also, staff friendly and helpful and the atmosphere is lovely, good selection of drinks and is dog friendly, the food was served lovely and hot, but my only fault was seeing the chef walk behind the bar and wipe his eyes and rub his face with his hands and then rub his head in his whites, there is plenty of parking, I would go back again and recommend, Worth a visit
We turned up on a Saturday evening having just travelled back from Bristol Airport and were all starving. Despite the kitchen being just about to close we were made to feel very welcome. Food was great as was the service. Not many people in which is why I scored lower for atmosphere but that's only a snapshot. I'm sure it would be great with a few more punters.
