We arrived at 7pm for what we thought was our booking and discovered there had been a mix up between us and the person who booked the table for us. However, despite being told they were short staffed and fully booked Sam the bar manager had a word with the chef and fitted us in. The evening was faultless. Everyone was so friendly, the food was outstanding and my husband and I had the best evening out. Thank you to Sam and the chef we will most certainly be back to celebrate our wedding anniversary.

We had a lovely lunch (roast, soup and risotto) truly enjoyable. And the deserts didn't desappoint either. They were delicious and nicely presented/served. The pub was fully booked but they add us (5) in to accommodate and were very friendly and concerned we were comfortably seated. Nice and causy place. Thanks! I recommend the Rising Sun. Do book though

Our first visit to The Rising Sun and it was well worth the wait. Lovely atmosphere, food was perfect and the service was spot on. You won’t find many better restaurant in the area. Oh, and the walk home was an added bonus across the levels on a crystal clear night.

Mum found this place and wanted to try it out for her birthday. You need to be careful driving here as roads are countryside narrow 😂 Booked for lunch, was slightly disappointed that the menu was not bigger. That said Becca did say we could choose off the snack menu. Anyway we both decided to have Guniea Fowl, well, wow, what a beautiful well presented meal. It was delicious. We then followed that with mango and coconut cheesecake and honeycomb ice cream. Mum is local and will be back . I on the other hand will call when back in the area. Thank you to both ladies for making it a lovely lunch.

By far the best meal we have had in a very long time. Staff were warm and welcoming as was the ambience and the food. We'll worth the drive into the sticks to find it and can't wait to go again.

We had a fabulous meal here last Saturday. The food is Michelin star quality at a very reasonable price, the venue is a wonderfully atmospheric beamed pub/restaurant and the service is perfect - the very kind waitress even brought dog biscuits and a blanket for my terrier to lie on. We have already booked to go back soon...

Great pub with amazing food and drinks, could be a Michelin star venue with the quality of the food!!! Staff were all friendly making our experience even better. Would 100% recommend and will be going back when next in the area.

Great place, very friendly, fantastic food and a nice atmosphere. It's posh dining in a relaxed setting. It's a little hard to find being off the beaten track and you start to doubt that you are going the right way as the road is barely wider than the car. But a really good find.

Absolutely stunning. Perfect portion sizes of the most delicious food. Everything about the experience was top notch, from the warm welcome on arrival to tweaking a dish to cater for one of our party that had a parsnip phobia! The atmosphere, decor and everything made it an experience to remember and we're already looking at when we can return.

We went here a couple of weeks ago to celebrate my Mums birthday. Thank you for an amazing lunch and for managing such a large group so well. We had a great time - delicious food, great service and lovely atmosphere. All the best
