My friend booked the bar and had a buffet for a small gathering. Everyone was made to feel welcome and the food was delicious...and just kept coming! Teenage boys chilled in the pool room and played darts without any casualties. A great afternoon
Homy cosy place with gourmet quality food. One of the best in South West England. Thank you guys!
Went for lunch today very tasty meal , lovely and hot , waitress service excellent would highly recommend the Creme Brulee . Staff very friendly keep up the good work guys your doing a great job👍
Really nice pub, very friendly and cosy atmosphere. Was there watching this guy called Jules Cooper, he was really good and a fab evening was had by everyone 😀
Nice back street pub, recently refurbished to a good standard.
Couple of hand pumps on offer.
Under new management now after being closed for a while.
Not had the food yet but the menu is quite good & at good prices.
A backwater pub, which has recently been bought and is in the process of being renovated by the current owners. We popped in (after dropping off our daughter elsewhere) for a quick pint. It was quiet, but a few locals welcomed us into the bar room, politely and jovially, where we ordered a drink. As the bar room is reasonably small we walked around the back of the bar area and sat in what appears to be a restaurant, although no food was being served, to be able to intimately chat. I surmise this was a lovely pub in its day, and still is now, but the decor needs updating. The one thing, above all else, that will make us return is the statement by the barmaid that it was "lovely to meet you and hope to see you again soon!" as we left. A very friendly place and we were made to feel at home. Thanks guys!
We were here 1 week after it was taken over. The owners were brilliant and so welcoming. Their son was so excited to see people and showed us to the beer garden area. This was all matched with an excellent Sunday roast dinner, in fact, the best roast we have had at a pub in all our years of trying different places. I'm sure that once the Vivary is up to speed it will be exceptional. We will be back to eat here when visiting down Taunton again. 5 stars at least.
Amazing food especially the Sunday dinners one of the best yet! Definitely worth a visit.Lovely pub with a very nice outside orchard seating area. The Landlord & Landlady are both very welcoming..(Worth 5 stars a and more!
Great pub with a good selection of well kept beer and half a dozen wines. The food was not adventurous but good well priced pub fair. We had an eater with a multitude of food allergies and intolerance s that they had not been warned about. But they went out of the way to suggest alternatives and accommodate.
Great couple of hours stop off after a long day of playing golf and tennis. Excellent food and beer. Nice out of town friendly local pub with big beer garden. Want to escape the wetherspoons and town centre Saturday night typical drunk youths it's worth the walk here. Excellent service and waitress was amazing rekindled my faith in the youth of today. Will definitely visit again on my travels! Owners very friendly and helpful behind the bar. How pubs used to be and should be.
Called in while out for a bank holiday fresh air walk, received s very friendly welcome, good ales and sampled the light launches. menu (vegetable curry) which was fine well presented. A perfect refuel to allow me to enjoy the rest of the days walk!
Lovely pub, and couldn't have been more accommodating when we turned up en masse. The food was lovely, the staff really friendly. Couldn't recommend it more - just lovely.
New landlord and landlady made you feel very welcome. Roast on Sunday fantastic and food lovely and hot, good old fashioned syrup pudding to die for. Will be going back again.
Excellent food in an excellent location. Very pleasant beer garden to the side of the main bar. Friendly staff looked after us well.
