Great atmosphere, great building, great beer, great staff, great menu (including gluten-free), great food, great outdoor area. Basically an all-round top pub
Parked here for the night in our motorhome, 11/07/2017,
Made very welcome by the staff, nice meal, good pint, and not overpriced, Tuesday night is music night with all the local talent with guitars, great to listen to so many talented musicians and singers, would recommend it to anyone and everyone,
Smashing pub grub at '80s prices with really down-to-earth, friendly staff. Beer garden is a really British countryside feeling too. Good job guys!!!!
Had a very pleasent visit on Tuesday good value and well presented meal washed down with an excellent pint of Pedigree.
Well worth a visit Pleasent surroudings and made welcome by Landlord .great value cheers.
Driven past many times but we decided to stop in for a light lunch and a drink today. It was a lovely warm and friendly atmosphere as soon as we walked in and Adam the owner was great. Had a chicken salad sandwich which was perfect and spotted other food coming out which also looked delicious. Great locals in there too who were friendly and had a good laugh with them. Not to mention Roy Wood from Wizzard was in there this afternoon!:) it’s a great pub and we will definitely be returning.
First time I had been tonight. Gorgeous pub, service was first class and the food was amazing. Not overloaded and v reasonable. Would recommend all the time. Well done Adam!
We live in the village so we walked down at the weekend and the food was lovely and all the staff are friendly . We will definitely be going again for a meal.
Well worth finding this pub. Food is lovely. Typical old fashioned pub with large outdoor area. Staff are friendly and service good too.
With a couple of hours to kill we stopped in for a drink and a bite to eat. We received a wonderfully warm welcome from the new manager of the pub who took time to check in with us and see what our experience was like. I’ll tell you what I told him - top notch! We took advantage of the Thursday night offer of a steak and drink for £12.95 - absolute bargain. The steak was tender, well seasoned and cooked perfectly medium as requested. Chips and onion rings piping hot and plentiful veggies finished the plate. Dietary needs were accommodated with no bother at all. Our compliments to the chef! The pub is warm and inviting, gently bustling but quiet enough to chat and relax. It sounds like new management have plenty of events planned to explore too! Would highly recommend stopping by and supporting this lovely village pub. We will be back.
A very warm and friendly welcome and lovely food in this dog friendly pub. Nice walks from the pub car park too to build up your appetite. Will be back soon 😊
Nice, friendly, welcoming staff, clean tables, condiments and cutlery. Not too busy( lunchtime on a Thursday) lots of choice on menu also special offers changed daily. Nothing seems too much trouble, I would highly recommend
Hi to you all. We came in to have drink and snack last Friday night. When we arrived it was an 80’s night. While we enjoyed the food and drink, the disco music was brilliant and after politely asking if we could possibly request a couple of our favourites, we were thrilled (even started dancing ha ha). Really looking forward to our next visit. Cheers 🥂
The food was absolutely fantastic! We had a wonderful time here at the Horseshoe. Atmosphere was amazing. Booked for a large party and everyone said how lovely the food was and how friendly the staff are. Service could improve as delays bringing meals out, but think that was due to staff shortages. We can appreciate they did their absolute best. Hats off to the chefs !
We visited the Horseshoe Inn after going to Adventure Farm. We chose the most inn as they was a good selection on offer for vegan, little ones and us. The welcome was great and friendly, nothing was too much trouble. The food was delicious and my daughter loved the BBQ cauliflower wings. I’m glad I saved space for the sherry trifle cheesecake, amazing. Thank you to all the staff especially, Zion.
Absolutely cracking pint of Pedigree. They're dog friendly. Not tried the food but looks very nice. Thursday night is quiz night. Overall out of 5 I'd would have given it a 6 . Will be going again. Need to try the food !
I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled to for this pub. We stopped in here for food as staying the night nearby pre our Alton Towers trip. The landlord really made the experience for us. So friendly and accommodating - even managing the kitchen’s closing hours to allow for one of our party arriving late from Scotland.
The landlord was so engaging and made each and every one of us feel at ease and welcome. He even entertained the kids with some card tricks. Food was top notch and on settling the bill at the end of the night was amazed at how reasonable it was given the quality.
Tradional style pub. Food was good and it was quite busy. Children and dogs welcome.
Update: Cosy and warm on a cold evening, Food waiting time not long and good choice. We felt very welcome and were served politely and friendly. Recommended.
Visited for my husband’s birthday, greeted by a very friendly landlord. Served by Molly who was also friendly and polite.
Food was great, compliments to Sean the chef
Also happened to be quiz night which was good fun
Great pub/restaurant, beer, food, garden, staff.
What more could you ask for on a Friday?
Fish chips and a pudding.
Really traditional pub with a good atmosphere. Outdoor space and beer garden for the summer and a classic interior of dark woods and tiled floor. Homely with open fires and dogs welcome. Food is very nice and reasonably priced and even has an extensive menu for vegetarians and vegans.
Just had our first Sunday lunch here under new management, food was Fabulous, very obliging service. You really need to visit and experience this for yourselves .
Lovely friendly pub. Definitely another visit. Big well done to Bobby who I believe jumped in at short notice and meal was fantastic! Empty plates all round
Hidden gem, gorgeous beer garden with playground for kids. Lovely staff and great food. We've eaten here loads and never had a bad meal
Pub empty when we went. Always used to be good. Nice food with simplistic regular menu.
A lovely pint of Pedigree and a tasty meal served well presented and piping hot. Helpful and friendly folks behind the bar providing great service. What is not to like?
