We had a pleasant welcome from the staff at this restaurant. We had booked a table and were told to sit near the entrance until our table was ready. The restaurant had just 3 tables taken at the time. We ordered the drinks and shortly afterwards our meal order was taken, and we were shown to our table. The food was quick to arrive, but then there weren’t that many customers in the restaurant at the time. The food tasted lovely. It wasn’t overly spicy nor did it have stacks of flavour, but it was still lovely. There was one waiting staff who was very polite and pleasant, very prompt with his service, and who understood what we were asking for (East Asian chap). The rest seemed to have problems understanding basic English, and were void of any pleasantness towards customers. This interaction made the atmosphere somewhat cold. My sticking point with this restaurant was getting the bill and then paying for it, and this was something that proved to be somewhat of an ordeal after waiting 20 minutes for the bill and a further 10 minutes for someone to take our money. Despite this, I would return because I found the food to be very nice.

Collected a takeaway last weekend. I always arrive 10mins early for a takeaway collection, but the food was already ready which is disappointing as it means it's been waiting. Poppadom pickle tray was a very small portion for 4 people. The curries too, however there was loads of rice. Food was delicious, but fairly expensive for what you get. Excellent fish options!

Excellent experience once again. The service was warm, friendly, and efficient. The restaurant has a lounge area where you can wait with a drink whilst browsing the menu. The food is delicious, with subtle flavours through to spicier dishes available. There's a great selection of drinks available from the bar and a takeaway service for us locals! 👌

Really good food full of flavour and freshly made. Lovely place to eat very olde style of decor. Long time since I have had to sit in a lounge area with a drink and menus, nice as we could talk and decide then taken through for the meal, enjoyed that but had a bit of wait, what with take aways and a large 8 people before us, food worth the wait.

Living down the road, it's taken me a while to visit The Rasoi since its opening a few years ago. After seeing hospitality businesses flop in that location, I couldn't help noticing how there are always cars in the car park and people dining inside every night the restaurant is open. One thing that has always baffled me is the table in the window by the traffic light. On multiple occasions while in my car I couldn't help but look in at the people sat at that table thinking "why on earth would you sit at that table?" because I can't be the only traveller who can't resist the urge of staring in. Nonetheless, last night, my girlfriend and I finally visited. The service was very friendly and helpful; we were first sat on comfy chairs while our table was prepared and we were able to look through the menu at this point. My girlfriend then informed me that when making our reservation on the phone, she had specifically booked the window table, simply because I had gone on about it in the past and when passing. So, after ordering our meals, we were led to the table in the window. The poppadums gave generous portions of pickles and sauces which were all delicious, but an easy mark to hit. Then, the curries arrived. These curries were by far the most delicious meals I've ever had at an Indian restaurant. The Karahi in particular had a place in my dreams last night. The sauces were well balanced and the meat was tender and succulent. The naans were on the smaller side, but very tasty. The one bit of criticism would be that we were either not given the chilli naan we ordered, or the chilli naan wasn't very spicy. All in all it was a brilliant night and I can't wait to see how well they do the other curries on their menu as I now intend to go through them all. I must admit that now I understand why people sit, or don't mind sitting at the window table and that's because you have such a good time with the delicious food inside, you're not paying any attention whatsoever to the drivers staring at you outside.

Really good Indian restaurant. Great prices too. The staff are extremely helpful and clearly know their dishes very well, one if the guys was really thorough when describing the chillies he uses and it was great to hear that passion. The ambience is really neat but too formal, there was a family enjoying a birthday party too. They have a private dining area for 8 - 12 people which is great to know. We'll definitely be back.
