Annual family birthday outing, 2 adults and three children, lovely food, great atmosphere and a free pint of beer chucked in! Highly recommended, this is a great place for food, to drink and generally relax, helpful freindly staff, great service! Been a few times now, for a drink or a meal and always found the pub had a great atmosphere! Would highly recommend to anyone, as Stuart has created a friendly, comfortable scene with great staff and welcoming environment! P.S try the chorizo scotch eggs!
On this occasion only called in to have a drink and to see the place after the refurbishment. Can't fault the drink and the new decor/ layout I think is very nice. Having been drinking/eating in the Sun for 30+ years on and off the food reputation from previous owners was excellent and new has a lot to live up to. I shall be going to eat at some point soon. I have to say when I was in on Sunday the roast dinners going past look mighty good 😊
Lunch today with my mum as a early birthday meal. I was blown away.. I haven't been in since you under went a refurbishment some time ago, but WOW amazing job done..!! The atmosphere was perfect, the staff.. so warm, welcoming & attentive, The home cooked food was outstanding..!! Best meal out in a very long time.. Thankyou all so much.. we will deffenatly be back..!!

Couldn't fault the place, we were a table of 8, attended to all of our dietary requirements, lovely roast, saw the biggest fish and chips on the next table ever, staff were brill and exceptionally accommodating, deffo be coming back, refurb is fab! 🌟 🌟

A lovely meal in the Rising Sun with my young family. My little girl left a muslin behind so I rang the next day to see if any chance it could be posted to us - such a small silly thing really but 2 days later my little girls face was a delight when it showed up in the post. Came here for mother's day with my parents, partner and brother. The service was exceptional and the food was amazing. I had messaged in advance about vegetarian options and they were super accommodating!! Will definitely be returning! Thanks for making the day special for my mum! �

Our experience at The Rising Sun was great
! We really enjoyed the pulled pork nachos and the burger.
Initially, we chose to sit outside,however before long, a sudden downpour surprised us. Although we were protected by the shelter, the attentive staff consistently checked on us, expressing concern that our toes might soon get wet! They kindly suggested that we consider relocating.
We didn't mind the rain too much; in fact, we found it quite soothing to listen to. However, as the water began seeping onto the floor, we realized it was time to make a move. Without us even having to request it, the staff promptly came to our aid and went above and beyond to accommodate us, despite the bustling atmosphere inside. Their kindness was truly heartwarming as they swiftly found us a table, ensuring our comfort and well-being.
Their quick action and genuine care made us feel valued and taken care of throughout the entire experience. We left the restaurant with a warm sense of gratitude and a memorable dining experience.
Just popped in for a quick pint just had to have a second pint unicorn 🍻😀
Just had a father's day breakfast this morning with my Dad absolutely delicious all are food was cooked to perfection I was very envious of my daughter's omelette! I will have go again
Having not visiting the rising sun in quite a few years, I was stunned by the renovations that have taken place.. It's not the same cozy old local, that I remembered. But it's now very smart and modern, clean and welcoming.. The food was tasty and well presented. Staff were attentive, and made sure we had all we needed.

I had never heard of this place up until about 3 days ago when a family member states we were going for a meal there.
Like most people, I had a look at the menu before hand and was pleasantly surprised at the choices and couldn't make my mind up what I wanted. It wasn't your chain style menu and you can tell thought had gone into it.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly staff who ensured we were all comfortable sat outside ( under a large tent style canopy with outdoor heaters all around) and had our drinks order in a rapid time.
A spanner was thrown into the works when I noticed they had an additional menu for the "Smokermotive" which I found amazing.
They offered a variety of smoked meat platters and at a very reasonable price.
I chose the Loco Box with an assortment of meet, fries, cheese sauce and mayonnaise, and I'll tell you what... It was amazing! I don't know if it was because I was hungry or I just enjoyed it so much but it didn't touch the sides and I wolfed it all down. Highly recommended if it's available.
Inside the pub was busy but still kept clean and orderly with the odd times were are currently in. Toilets were clean however only one cubicle in the men's and that's probably the only negative I can give this place.
It is dog friendly as well so I will definitely be returning with my Dog and stuffing my face more.
Really impressed with this gem and worth the trip from the surrounding areas as well.
We went for a walk in Tarporley but booked a table the night before. We rang from our walk as it took longer than expected. They were so accommodating and took our order in advance, so they could have it ready for when we arrived. Welcoming, friendly staff and a gorgeous Sunday roast. My chicken was beautiful and my brother said the beef was lovely.

Stopped off for a pint and some food on Sunday night after spending the day at Oulton park and was told they stopped serving food so settled for a quick pint . The pub is very well presented , clean and welcoming . Also a pub quiz on later for a little bit of entertainment. Would like to recommend that they maybe offer cobs or snacks if customers are interested .

Food seems to have gone downhill over the last few weeks. The Beef brisket ends were very hard and chewy and the chips weren't as good as usual. Mac and cheese was amazing though as was the chicken.
Good pub for a drink.
Unfortunately a strong smell of toilets spoilt the experience.
The toilets, boys and girls, both were the origin of the smell.
Sorry guys you need to be more thorough with your cleaning regime.
Top class pub with beautiful interior. We had probably our nicest Sunday lunch of the year here. The staff are friendly and efficient.
Called in on the off chance on way home. Excellent, value for money, beef roast, generous portion of perfectly cooked tender meat and lots of veg. Finished with very good homemade crumble and custard. Friendly, efficient staff in this comfortable locals' pub. Will return. Thanks from the Allens.
Very popular locals pub with a good selection of food. Can get a bit noisy, but never rowdy. Perfect pint of Robinsons and pleasant attentive staff.

Met friends for a Sunday afternoon meal, good parking at the rear and food was excellent. Probably worth booking as it was quite busy.
Great meal for 5 of us last Sunday. The pub was busy, with a big Coronation street party taking place on the main street, but we had a good meal each, with good service and pleasant staff. No complaints at all.

Friendly staff and great location in the middle of Tarporley with parking behind the pub. I can recommend the garlic mushrooms stater I had for lunch today. Delicious.
Sat outside, quite a nice day, dog friendly but outside dog bowls were quite dirty, we took our own so not a problem and bits of broken glass under the tables, need to be more spot on if wanting 4 legged friends to be safe

A great little pub. Beautifully renovated and brought up to date a couple of years ago. Quality of food hasn't been great in my experience but I having eaten there in a while. However beers and wine are good quality.
