I am new to the area and was looking for somewhere me and my mum could sit and have some food after our walk. I was abit nervous as I have an anxious dog that doesn't really like being around people much. I went in beforehand and explained and the girl there was very understanding and showed us a quiet corner where we could be with him without people coming too close. I haven't taken him inside a pub for over 3 years as it's usually way too much for us both. He even took treats from one of the girls behind the bar when she brought him some water. He must have been very relaxed as I have never known him to take food off a stranger. Our food was incredible and reasonably priced. The nicest meal out I have had in some time. The pub itself is very clean and the toilets didn't feel like you were walking into toilets at all they were spotless and very nicely decorated. We both thoroughly enjoyed our visit and it made it all the better with my boy being able to join us and being so well accommodated. We will definitely be returning 🙂 Thank you for the pleasant experience from all 3 of us 😊 Revisited on Sunday 27th as a 4 + my mum's dog to have some food for my grandma's birthday. Again service was great. The manager (i think it was) even offered to move his car so that my mum could park in the car park. The food was great. I've never seen my grandma eat so much. She ordered the roast dinner and we told her to order the small as she doesn't usually eat most of it. She ate nearly all of it. And then ordered a crumble for desert and polished that off too. The rest of us ordered the sausage and mash on a Yorkshire pudding. The red onion chutney in the gravy was amazing. Thank you again for great food and service 👍 looking forward to my next visit. 🙂

My partner and i wanted to try out the local pub as we were viewing houses in the area. The new manager was so welcoming, warm, kind and really informative about the area, giving us advice about schools and family days out etc... we loved chatting to him. The service was excellent - we had a standard burger and chips but it was the tastiest we've had in a long time. Dessert was lovely too and the chef came out to chat to us. The setting and interior of the pub was beautiful - right down to the toilets... we can't wait to come back and hopefully be living close by one day too. Lucy & Luke.

This establishment is so much better after the refurbishment. The internal decor is very well designed and the menu has improved greatly. We had the light bites meal deal (starter and main for £10); staryed with Southern fried chicken goujons and Haloumi fries, gammon steam and chicken caesar salad for mains. Very nice food and the staff were friendly and very helpful. *repeat visit Nov 19. If anything this place has got better as the months have gone by, adapted well to the village and keep the menu fresh. This visit we had: Toad in the Hole and a Tennessee Burger... delicious 😁

Lunch here today as part of our 6.6 mile Friday Meander. Very nice environment, with wheelchair access, enhanced by friendly, helpful staff. Food was well presented and enhanced by a couple of pints of Wainwright.

We popped in for lunch after visiting the seeing Santa at the West Lancashire Light Railway. The service was great and the food was amazing. I would recommend popping in here as the look and feel is lovely. 👌👌👌

Food on point and plenty to choose from the menu! Great selection of beers...decent prices. Service is brilliant 🍻
