Just home from spending two nights in the Loch Riddon room on the barge a beautiful room with on suite wet room. Easily the best view on the barge from this room, beautifully decorated and loved the wine and treats in the room on arrival. We ate in The Sea Bed restaurant both nights, the other half loved the seafood, and I can't recommend the steakpie enough. Staff are attentive and very approachable, they even kept a table for us on the Saturday with it being Easter Weekend the restaurant was fully booked and called us to see if we wanted the reservation as we had been out all day. Breakfast absolutely sets you up for the day too! We took the ferry to Portavadie and had a few very civilised drinks at the marina there, but loads to do and explore just pack for all weathers!! We will be back!!

Sailed in yesterday; popped for a pint elsewhere then had a cracking dinner. Beautiful fish, done imaginatively. Friendly staff. I don’t suppose it’s the cheapest; but definitely felt you get what you pay for.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Stayed in the barge that definitely had the 'wow' factor as soon as you walked in. The rooms were amazing and the wet room was an added bonus. Had dinner and breakfast in the hotel and both meals were cooked to perfection. Do not have one bad thing to say about the barge, hotel and staff.

Fantastic seafood. Starter haggis with goats cheese was extremely tasty. But the seafood linguine with fresh loch fyne mussels and langoustine was superb.

I recently had the pleasure of dining at The Anchorage in Tarbert Argyll, and I must say, it was an absolute delight. This hidden gem of a restaurant deserves all the praise it can get. From the moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the warm and inviting atmosphere. The Anchorage is a seafood lover's paradise. Their commitment to serving the freshest and most delectable seafood is truly commendable. The scallops and mussels I had were delicious. Cooked to perfection and bursting with flavour, they melted in my mouth with each bite. The quality of the seafood alone is reason enough to visit this establishment. What impressed me even more was the changing menu specials board. The Anchorage takes pride in offering a diverse selection of dishes that cater to various preferences. It was refreshing to see their dedication to incorporating seasonal ingredients and presenting innovative creations. The anticipation of discovering what new delights awaited me on the specials board added an element of excitement to my dining experience. The intimate size of the restaurant added to its charm. With a limited number of tables, The Anchorage creates an intimate and cozy setting, perfect for a romantic evening or a relaxed dinner with friends. The attentive and friendly staff made me feel right at home, providing excellent service throughout the evening. From start to finish, my visit to The Anchorage was a memorable one. The combination of exceptional seafood, a changing menu specials board, and the cozy ambiance made it an experience I won't soon forget. If you find yourself in Tarbert Argyll, I highly recommend indulging your taste buds at The Anchorage. Trust me, you won't be disappointed

Pan seared scallops with rocket &curry oil. Vegetable spring Rolls & sweet chilli dip. Roast Lamb on garlic mash & cabbage. Spicy Malaysian seafood curry. Pineapple blonde ice cream. Lemon meringue cheesecake Fantastic. My wife loved the Lamb. & The seafood curry was that nice I picked the bowl up and slurped the last of the juice... Perfect for my Wife's 60th Birthday.

Hidden little gem in Tarbet. Was here for a long weekend and dined out here for both nights (recommend booking in advance). Food is absolutely fantastic and well prepared, excellent choice for everyone (would recommend the specials in the board also) and very good portions. Both our servers were really friendly and chatty and make you feel very welcome (thanks girls). Nice decor and friendly atmosphere. The homemade pie crust is simply out of of world, can't recommend it highly enough and the freshest seafood I have every tasted. Not to be missed!

Gorgeous tasty food. The menu is very small but the things I have eaten have all been well cooked, good portions & look good on the plate. Intimate wee place with friendly, welcoming staff. No question you have to book or you won't get eating there.

I honestly wasn't expecting much since Tarbert is not exactly the centre of the universe, but this is an excellent little restaurant. The soup was truly wonderful, with fresh toasted bread. My main meal was Gressingham duck. Again, it was really very good. The meal contained a really nice selection of flavours and textures together with a very tasty jus. Some little places can be a bit pretentious, with prices to match, but this was not an expensive meal. All in all, you can be assured of having an excellent meal here. I highly recommend it.

We were really lucky to get a cancellation for this gem of a place as booking is essential. It was a rainy Sunday evening and the place was full. Meal was lovely pie of the day & the last raspberry creme brulee for hubby as it was his birthday so I had the champagne & sorbet mango instead.

Fantastic bistro; this is only a small restaurant (you probably need to book) but excellent service and high quality food. I had the smoked salmon pate which was enjoyably gravadlaxy. Steak and Masham ale pie a treat, individually wrapped in good pastry. Raspberry and almond tart perfect finale. Excellent
