Great fresh seafood, very friendly staff. The fish of the day is perfect, the seafood platter excellent and much fun with lobster, langoustines, oysters, mussels and crab. Cullen Skink and wee queenis recommanded as starter, but probably you can't go wrong with anything.

Lovely friendly staff, awesome food. The ladies who serve the food all really seem to care and go out of their way to be welcoming and helpful. The folks who create the food do an awesome job, and every plate is a joy.

The most delicious seafood I've had in a very long time. The staff were all fantastically friendly. Would not only recommend people to eat here but I'd positively encourage them to eat here!

We had a nice dinner at the Starfish. Obviously fish was delicious, pairing wines too. Staff was professional and friendly. Wasn’t too expansive, so it’s a plus :-)

We had a wonderful Sunday lunch today. Five adults, a toddler and a dog were warmly welcomed and looked after so well. The food was delicious, served thoughtfully and with care. We were not rushed despite lingering longer than usual. Excellent service and value! Looking forward to our next visit.

A dark night with pouring rain and heavy winds outside, it was so nice to step into this cozy restaurant. The candlelight and lovely seaside artwork adorning the walls gave the restaurant a very hygge atmosphere, but I must say the best part was the attentive staff and amazing food. They even served us dessert after the kitchen closed. I would definitely return! I don’t understand some of the negative reviews as our experience was completely different. The service we received was comparable to the Michelin star restaurants we’ve been to, the tableware was polished, and we never waited long for anything. Our server consistently checked up on us to make sure everything was perfect, and he poured my husband an excellent whisky cocktail. P.S. Highly recommend anything with langoustine and sticky date pudding. (Sorry no photos, too busy devouring the delicious eats in front of us :) )

Very pleasant lunch. Homely service as its family run. Ambitious, well done but some improvement can be made The good points, atmosphere very nice, great decor, friendly, large selection of seafood, from shellfish to whole fish hot and cold platters available. Right in the middle of Tarbert. Very pretty location. Delicious oysters, whitebait, and superb lobster. All so fresh. The needing improvements in my opinion are gritty scallops, undercooked langoustines, tiny portion of chips, and poor house champagne. I would still go back and recommend Starfish restaurant.

Food was some of the best fish I've ever had. The Cullen skink was seasoned perfectly and the seafood linguini was faultless; very well done chef! The lady who looked after me was very friendly and attentive, a real asset to the business. Would give 6 stars if I could!

Great food and convivial atmosphere, service was good considering you have 2-3 staff front and back of house trying to handle 20-30 covers. We saw the reviews about this and these guys maybe slow by the standards of a big city BUT pretty quick compared to say Andaluzia or southern Italy!

We came here for dinner on our stay over in Tarbert and it ended up being one of the best meals on our trip. The restaurant itself is lovely and cosy, yet a good size. There was a great selection of specials on offer and we had the langoustines and scallops to start, followed by sea bass and monkfish for mains. Whilst the langoustines were great, the star of the show were the venetian scallops. They were cooked perfectly, but had such a great flavour to them. I could have eaten another plate no problem. The monkfish had a lovely sundried tomato sauce, which was superb. A perfect balance of savoury and salty. Both mains were great, and the wine selection was good at reasonable prices. We didn't have desert so I am not sure how they were but they looked good from seeing others. If I'm ever back in Tarbert I know where I'll be going for dinner

What can you say, situated in the very picturesque corner of Tarbert, the staff could not have been more welcoming. The food was not only cooked to perfection but served beautifully. The atmosphere is calm and inviting, the place is spotless. I came back two days in a row as the food was that good. 10star experience x
