Lucky find on journey home. Friendly staff, fast service and decent portions of tasty Sunday roast! Dog friendly, too. Additionally, there was a charity run of vintage tractors, today. Very enjoyable!

We have just returned from the pleasant, Saturday night atmosphere in the Tavern. The staff were very welcoming and keen to share their local knowledge. There were three of us eating and two went for homemade pies and the other went for the veggie risotto. All were delicious and top notch 'pub grub'. We look forward to the pub quiz tomorrow (weekly at 7pm on a Sunday) and enjoy the friendly feel we did tonight. A must visit if staying in or passing through Tansley. Thanks again! The Clement family.

Excellent service! Jake was supremely helpful in catering to our allergies and dietary requirements (celiac & vegan) making the most delicious stir fry and carrot chips! Will definitely return and do highly recommend checking it out!

We loved it. They were brilliant with my son, who has ASD and ADHD, it was quiet and they were patient with him. Decorated beautifully for Christmas when we came. We will be back!

We were seated in the upper restaurant. It was my mother in laws birthday and the servers made a fuss of her, which was lovely of them. We were recommended specials and our needs were taken into account. The food served was beautiful, hot and tasty. The birthday girl herself was disappointed that the vegetarian pie wasn't what she expected, but that is in no way the fault of The Tavern, it was presumed to be chunky filling, not blended so this was our only quibble. I do think a note about the ladies toilet step should be made, it's quite a drop, but in no way spoilt our experience. We will definitely be back when in the area (but perhaps my MiL will choose a different vegetarian meal - there was a few to choose from)

Cute little pub. Visited on a Thursday evening. The interior was very cosy the menu has a range of good pub food and a couple good veggie options. Portions were really good, my side of chips was massive. Service was very friendly!

Very friendly staff. Had meal which was very good but too much for us at lunch time, good value for money. Would go again when we're out that way.

Driven past this place so many times but never called in until today. Friendly staff and delicious, home cooked food - try the vegan pie if you're not a carnivore, you'll not be disappointed! Will definitely call in again.

Lovely local pub in Tansley, staff very polite and helpful, we were staying at Lickpenny caravan park and they sorted a taxi for us to get back πŸ‘. The choice of drinks was very good, including handpulled beers. We did not eat here but the food that came out looked and smelt lovely. We would recommend this pub if you are in the area. Thanks P and J 😊

Popped in Sunday afternoon for a quick light lunch but sadly they were only doing Sunday roast which me n my husband didn't want. Gareth I think is the manager was very friendly and welcoming and bent over backwards to help us, he gave us the light lunch menu even though it wasn't on that day but unfortunately there was nothing we wanted off that either. He was very understanding so we had our drinks and left but we will definitely be back on a different day to try main menu as it's worth a visit just for the chat with the manager, it's a lovely pub with a great atmosphere.
