Fantastic. No wonder Portobello's has the reputation of tamworths best restaurant, everything from the garlic mushrooms dripping in garlic butter to my mouth watering fillit steak in a prawn, mushroom and onion cream sauce that just blow me away, not forgetting the Mars bar cheese cake to finish the night off. Everything is always perfect which includes the friendly service and the price. Would recommend to everyone

It was doing so well... The Sunday special menu, £5 for any main or pasta or pizza, it couldn't go wrong really. The service was swift, and the wait for the food didn't take too long. I'd eaten at Portobello before and wasn't overly impressed so was not sure what to expect. This time though the food was delicious, even my hard to please wife enjoyed it. But then something strange happened. A rather large party of some 30 people entered and proceeded to crowd around our table and order drinks. Rather than the staff seating them, they stood around making us feel claustrophobic and almost in the way. I don't like being watched while I'm eating particularly, but what made matter worse was being ignored by the staff. We were left waiting for half an hour, before my wife complained to a poor waitress who brought us our bill and some jelly beans, not the dessert menu so I can't comment on the desserts as I was not given the chance to try them. I would probably eat here again on a Sunday due to the value, but any normal night I would not. Its not refined enough to be worth paying around £50 full price.

GOOD NIGHT!. Hadn't been for a couple of months and had girly night here on Friday - was impressed with the new look - very cosmopolitan. Had Tagliatelle Panza with garlic bread - top meal. All the girls enjoyed and even gonna have our Christmas do there now

I wish I could give it 10 stars, everything was outstanding, from the start. We had a really nice greeting when we arrived and nothing was too much trouble. Amazing a must visit when in Tamworth.

Came in for a romantic valentines day meal and that's exactly what we got! The staff were fantastic at making sure everything was okay and making sure we had enough drinks. Food was absolutely lovely, I couldn't get enough! The sharing platters for starters and dessert were wonderful. Perfect portion sizes. The atmosphere was fantastic with the romantic music playing plus the little fake candles on the table were super cute. Will definitely be coming back again soon for a date night.

We were visiting Drayton Manor and staying overnight and wanted some Italian. We found this place on Google and what a great find it was! We didn't have a reservation and in retrospect were lucky to get a free table because this place must be fully booked all the time. Can not fault it, very accommodating for our kids and probably the best service I have ever come across; the 3 waitresses were very attentive and friendly. The food was very prompt. My daughter knocked over my water and they cleared it up in seconds, replacing all the cutlery. The food was delicious and plentiful, my wife and I had the risotto and spaghetti bolognese and our son the bambino pizza, didn't get a chance to take a photo because we couldn't wait 😅. We shared the profiteroles (in the picture below) which was again delicious! Really great value for money too, 3 mains, desert and drinks for just over £50 (spent more in Pizza Hut last week). Thank you Portabello!

We are in Drayton park/resort and decided to experience the dinning outside. In our second night here we decided to try Portobello: Friendly staff and MOST importantly: GOOD/FAIR amount of food and we weren't still hungry after that. I recommend and will surely come back.

I doubted family run Traditional Italian Restaurants after experiencing so so quality food and samey options delivered by overly passionate staff. Portobello Restaurant has put my faith back in the Italian culinary experience. On entering I was met by grounded, accommodating staff that ensured I was happy with the choice of table. Staff were smiley, chatty and assisted joyfully with the menu options. I opted for some nibbles and their excellently priced 2 courses for £19.95. The atmosphere in Portobello Restaurant is relaxed, sociable and family oriented. The minimalist artistic interior beams with natural light. Dishes were superbly presented, quality was evidently high. The jelly babies and hand written “thank you” on the bill echoed the care they provide to their customers. A wonderful experience.

I've been coming here since I was a child and it's stayed just as good as it used to be. The staff here are really friendly and it's run by the same family. The food is always fresh and piping hot and the portion sizes are great. I recommend the Mars bar cheesecake for dessert, it's fantastic!

Nice little place. Excellent food and service, and reasonably priced. The place was very busy, but the servers handled it excellently particularly ours, Keira. It has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere. Only drawback is a lack of air con, it can get pretty hot in there! Overall, excellent and definitely recommended.

My daughter and I visited here as a walk in. The waitress admittedly looked very young but we loved that, she was brilliant. This is before we get to the food, we had three courses and were absolutely blown away by the quality, presentation and feel of this place. We had an amazingly relaxing time and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. This place is highly recommended.

Fantastic food. Very friendly staff and decent prices. I'm an very fussy when I order steak. I ask for rare mostly to ensure it's not over cooked. It's great when a chef actually cooks a rare steak exactly how it should be

Delicious meal served by really friendly staff. I had the scallops for starter and the Portabello Seabass main, both were incredible, the fish was perfectly cooked and the sauce was well balanced and complex in flavour. We will definitely be going back.

Amazing food. We had pasta and it was made in house. Great service. Small but lovely area near the Castle.

Pleased to see that it is almost full even on a weekday! Glad I arrived early as I was accommodated without a booking. 3 courses and a decently portioned side salad, very happy! Food clearly prepared with care and the staff are very warm and friendly. My linguine Malfitane was a bit saucy, asked for some bread to mop it all and it was not too much trouble. Finished off with a waffle with berries ice cream, which if it had been served with fresh berries rather than frozen I would have deemed the whole meal faultless. Still, it was all in all, great. Do visit!

Good food nonetheless but a bit overrated and overpriced. Desert was amazing, therefore the 4th star. For such a small restaurant waiting to be served, it's a bit too long.
