Always nice to go back to a pub you love.
And the star is high on the list. Always a cheery welcome and such a lovely atmosphere.
I could and have spent many happy hours in the beer garden.
Lovely home cooked food although we didn’t eat today. Will we be back?

Recommend if you're there visiting, staying or just floating nearby. There's direct canal path access as well as a decent free car park.
Been popping down to Talybont a fair few times in the last 3 months and have truly enjoyed every visit to the Star. Always feel welcomed and have always been greeted with a smile by all the staff. The Star Inn is a little gem set in the Usk Valley. There are always a good range of beers on tap. The staff are friendly and the pub is clean and well kept. We didn't eat on this occasion but the menu displayed a range of foods at reasonable prices. It was a welcomed after a day's walking in the Bl
Amazing beer garden and great range of ales. Only one vegan option for food, but sort of to be expected in little rural villages. Chef was nice and explained everything well.
Great pub by the side of the canal. Warm welcome and great food. Lovely garden. Couldn’t fault it. Don’t try the White Hart next door. She’s a miserable cow in there.
Don't judge a book by its cover. This pub doesn't look that special initially, but the food is amazing. Plus a stunning beer garden, and dog friendly.
The food was exceptionally good, and the staff very very friendly! Also there were great vegetarian options. I highly recommend this nice pub!
Awesome little old timey pub by the river. Great drinks and the best beef and ale pie I have ever tasted (!). Friendly staff and spacious beef garden.

Good pub beer and tasty pub grub. Baby changing facilities in the female toilets too. Cosy and welcoming bar!
Great beer garden, freindly staff. Didn't eat here but all food looked very nice.
Stopped there while I was on a bike ride which was easy as there was A path straight from the canal. The menu was not extravagant but the food was very nice and good portions. The staff were very friendly and good quick service. Beer garden was nice to with the sound of the river.
