Sadly I only ever frequent The Kingsdown for wakes, which I guess given its proximity to the crematorium is to be expected, but they seem to do them well. As a family we had a delightful afternoon celebrating the life of a family member. The service was sensitive and efficient which given we were a
First time visitor to the Kingsdown and have to say I was really impressed. The food was great, drinks were great and service was great. The halloumi burger was outstanding, highly recommended. The steak pie was good too. Definitely would recommend and go again
Jeez, it's much improved...the new management appreciate the loyalty of the regulars whilst also being aware they must encourage new footfall by increasing the interest/offer with new menus, decent wine prosecco glasses, wider opening and closing times for food, music sport on the telly, discos an
Came here for a funeral wake.
I have always found The Kingsdown a very nice pub. It's a big place with two bars and outside seating area.
The buffet food served today was very tasty. I love food, so enjoyed it all, especially their home cooked style cheese and onion quicheπ
Had a nice drink of Tha
Booked for 9 people for a birthday lunch. We had three gluten free people in our party one of whom is also dairy free.
Menu offered lots of variety for us all; although if they made the sausages GF too this would have been fantastic. However, food was delicious. Kitchen accommodated our late pudding
Took my mum and grand dog for the first time. I wasn't looking forward to it because she's not keen on dog. They treated us so well. With a treat and water for Bob.
Run out of beef but chicken was delicious. Would definitely go back
Went here for my birthday meal with friends and family and had a excellent time, the food was really good as was the service the staff did everything they could to make sure we had a great evening. I would definitely recommend this place for a meal.
Went in for lunch here had a baguette great value for money.
Great friendly staff.
Would definitely go here again
Always nice friendly staff. Lovely garden and good food ππ shade if needed with a fair size under cover seating area. Dogs are welcome and they do the best cakes π π
Good pub grub, reasonably priced. Stopped serving at 2pm on the Saturday we visited so be mindful of the time if you go at lunchtime.
Lovely pub next to Arkells brewery lovely garden area and good food on a sunny day π»π½πΊ fantastic staff π
Food was average, and we waited quite a while for food to arrive. Not keen on frozen skin on fries chips reminded me of the ones you get from aldi.
Just an average pub .. food is a lot cheaper and better in many other places .. quite empty a lot of the time .. π€ could be better
Called in for one stayed for two, definitely will return
We held a wake here, it is two minutes from the crematorium, very well catered, with ample choice and plentifully quantity. We were given a quiet corner with lots of chairs and tables, tea and coffee.
The team clearly knew we were coming and looked after us really well on the most difficult of days.
