You know those little cafes where things are homemade and the staff know your name and your usual order??? This is one of those. It was an extremely early morning for the drive down to Swindon and to be honest, I was just looking for a good, strong cup o' joe. I had seen this cafe on my walks through Old Town and decided to give it a go.
You can have a Full English Breakfast, a small version of the Full English, Eggs on Toast, Toast and Jam... basically whatever you fancy for breakfast, they probably do. There are menus on the table, but you order at the till and they will bring your order to you. I ordered the smaller version of the Full English (one egg, one bacon, one sausage, hash brown, mushrooms, beans, tomato, and toast) and an Americano. The lady asked me if I wanted a double shot or just one shot... she must have read my mind! I had a double shot in a regular mug (they have small mugs as well).
It is a nice quiet place with plenty of tables or near the till there is a counter with stools that customers could sit at. There are loads of newspapers there for the choosing. Even the "Small Breakfast" seemed quite large. The only part of the breakfast that I didn't quite like was the sausage... the casing was a bit chewy. Otherwise it was a cheap and cheerful breakfast and the double shot Americano was just what I needed. As I was finishing my breakfast, lots of locals who frequent the cafe (people who work/own shops on Wood Street, people from the neighborhood, etc.) began to stop in for coffee to go and to have breakfast.
I loved listening to them, one couple walked in and the lady asked if they wanted their usual and also said to the man, "This isn't your usual time to stop in." It was just a very friendly and familiar environment... and of course yours truly, the unknown customer in the mix. I decided to hang around a little longer (hit a chapter in my book that was really interesting and wanted to finish the chapter before heading out) so I ordered another Americano (single shot this time). Glad I did... one of the ladies who stopped in was going to just have toast and jam, but then decided she wanted cake. Apparently there was a new one on rotation, Nutella Cake. It looked gorgeous and it must have been delicious as it was gone quite quickly. I am going to have to find out when it is being offered and go have a slice!
Great cakes. Menu is plentiful for sandwiches, jackets + breakfast. Nice and quiet as well. Will come again.
Lovely breakfast and friendly staff and fast service
Hadn't visited before this morning (30-Sep) but, will definitely be back :) Everything was spotlessly clean, staff were warm and friendly and the Full English breakfast was delicious.
Been there twice and very good service and value for money. Will go again fully recommend them. Lovely breakfast too. Try them.
I was really impressed by the prices and the ladies are lovely, the food was tasty, and the kitchen is visible and looked clean which is always reassuring. I have knocked off a star for being too efficient - when me and my six-year-old popped to the loo, leaving our jackets and shopping at the table, we came back to find our table being cleared before we'd finished. I can see the funny side, and the young lady seemed gutted!
Good value food, served hot to the table. Staff were very busy but were very friendly. Can definitely recommend the small breakfast.
I love this place, we visit often for lunch and always have a pleasant experience. Good service, food is lovely and brought out quickly and just a really nice place to stop and have a cuppa (and sometimes a cheecky cake).
I have been collecting a breakfast each morning for a friend for the last few weeks and can honestly say the services from all the ladies has been exceptional. Nothing is to much trouble and they have been extremely accommodating with my request... Also the breakfast is good and always steaming hot!

We had breakfast which was well cooked. Eggs were perfect and looked like farm eggs. Very enjoyable.
Best breakfast close to my work. The large breakfast which is 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 sausage, 2 hash browns, toast, beans and mushrooms is about a fiver which is pretty decent to be fair but then adding a coffee bumps the price right up unfortunately. Was £7.20 for the breakfast and coffee which seems a bit high. I’d still go back, but a coffee or tea should be cheaper with a meal or free in my opinion..
Reasonably priced, clean and pleasant cafe. They do a good sized portion of food. Friendly staff and they were kind enough to wrap up the rest of my sons sandwiches when he didn't eat it all. Have been there a couple of times so far and will probably return when I'm next up that way.
In the area for work. Had a coffee and toasted tea-cake for breakfast. Then came back for soup at lunch time. Lovely local cafe for local people. Great service. Good food. Great price.

Great value for money, i go in the Pantry mainly for a Jacket Potato take-away due to being on a quick lunch break. Great value for money, always remember my order and the best jackets and fillings with coleslaw and a side salad. Delicious!
