Wow... we came here on a Tuesday night for my birthday as a family.
Always wanted to try the place, so glad we finally did! Children had lasagne and the pasta dish which they both loved.. a nice change from the usual nuggets and chips they normally have.. my wife had ham egg and chips but asked to change to potatoes, not a problem.
I had the special board rump steak, I also asked if possible to have prawns with the steak as surf n turf... not a problem, steak was the best seasoned steak I have had in ages and I am very particular about my food!! Prawns not over cooked and seasoned amazingly... onion rings massive and very filling side salad beautiful, coleslaw was very tasty too... French fries as expected gorgeous too with once again just the right seasoning added to them.
The chef deserves more than a pat on the back, the steaks taste better than Marco Pierre whites steakhouse steaks!!
Bar/staff lovely and welcoming and very friendly
Will be back again.
Thank you for the beautiful afternoon tea you provided for my baby shower this afternoon. It was amazing and you all couldn’t do enough for us. Lovely venue and great staff and owners. Definitely recommend for any occasion.
It is always a pleasurable experience at the New Calley Arms, always received with a warm welcome , both by staff and management . Food is fresh , tasty and portions are abundant. Highly recommend
Tapas night , Valentine night .. Any night .. When you have a chef that cooks with this much care ..your guaranteed a top meal .. Highly recommended
Had an amazing afternoon tea here yesterday. More than we could eat plenty of tea and coffee as well as prosecco. Would definitely recommend it and will be going back to try their main menu. Many thanks.
Had a fabulous meal at the New Calley this evening.
Very accommodating staff even though they we packed to the rafters! Would recommend,,,book first.
Attended a christening here and thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon in the sunny beer garden, with marquee! Scrumptious buffet put on and very attentive and friendly staff!! Highly recommend as a venue for an event!
Held a 30th birthday party here and we were so impressed with the venue, the food and the wonderful staff! Will definitely be coming back in the future!
Hired marquee for christening. Decorated beautifully for us, fantastic food and plenty of it, friendly staff and manager Jon went out of his way to accommodate us. Would definitely recommend for functions and excellent value and service for money.
Visited Saturday afternoon and I must say it was a fantastic experience from start to finish. We were greeted with warm friendly smiles from all the staff which immediately set the tone for a memorable afternoon. The food is outstanding with Chefs attention to detail and culinary expertise apparent in every aspect of out meal. 5 stars, highly recommended.
We have been visiting The New Calley Arms for 5+ years now and it has always consistently been an amazing place to dine. It is a family-ran pub and it has a very cosy and welcoming feel to it. The staff are down to earth and the food never disappoints, particularly their Sunday roast. I would highly recommended paying a visit.
I cannot think of a better place locally for a Sunday roast. From when we arrived to when we left we were looked after very well, the pub was busy without being over noisy and the food was to die for……..the best pork belly I’ve had by far………I can highly recommend The New Calley Arms for food or even a drink……keep up the great work your doing guys and gals. 👌🏻
Beautiful pub with amazing staff. Staff made us really welcome as we dropped in for a few beers in their beer garden. They very kindly provided us with complimentary snacks and even kindly offered to drop us back to our accommodation. Thanks to all for a lovely experience.
First visit here and definitely will not be my last the food was amazing and the staff make you feel like family.
What lovely staff in this cosy, friendly pub! I was on a long distance drive of several hours to the New Forest one evening when I got hopelessly lost as a main road was closed due to someone falling off a bridge. I didn't know the area and my sat nav wouldn't direct me any other way. In desperation I stopped at this country pub to ask directions. Jess was so kind and patient in giving me detailed directions and was even drawing a map for me when John came behind the bar and Jess told him what my problem was. He kindly said he would drive me to where I had to turn off and I could follow him - but first he got directions for me on google maps on my phone, actually gave me a holder to hold my mobile phone in, set it up on my dashboard so I could look at it whilst I was driving and gave me a charger for my phone (as mine was packed away in my luggage) and wouldn't take any money for it! Off we went then, with me following John to where I turned off and I then had an easy, stress-free trip all the way to my destination! It's the kindness of perfect strangers like this that shows the English at their best and touches the heart. This review is very late in coming - but better late than never! Thank you ever so much John and Jess!
There is a reason why this pub is the no.1 rated in the area. What a place. You know it’s going to be good when they open at 5pm and have been going for years.
Staff are amazing, the landlord in the kitchen, serving up food you’d expect from a high class restauran… the food and the options are insanely good. Reasonably priced for what you are getting compared to anywhere else.
The welcome you receive is genuine and warm. Anything wrong? They sort it. Anything you need? They will go above and beyond to help.
If you want to find a proper British pub and impress your friends, come here. BUT if you are doing food for a special occasion, make sure you call. And even if busy, they are great at accommodating. It never disappoints.
Some of the 4 star and below reviews are hilarious, they literally say this place is amazing and that they solved any problem. You won’t find that anywhere.
This is a testament to British pubs and a must try!
Really lovely friendly pub in the heart of Wiltshire. Food excellent, service 1st class. Lovely people who run it. A real gem!
Lovely staff, warm and welcoming atmosphere, went for a family meal to celebrate my grandads passing and the staff were so accomodating. Food was amazing and is now a regular for my family (myself am a little out of area) fully recommended.
Second time I have been for dinner at The New Calley Arms and once again the food was fabulous! The crackling on the pork belly is perfection! Lovely atmosphere, lovely attentive staff and amazing. Can't recommend highly enough and already looking for another reason to return.

Lovely Sunday roast, first time coming and we will be returning, 5* thank you 😊
Fantastic beer and pub food. Service is always good
Great food, friendly service. Very generous with their portion sizes and the food is delicious.
Food was lovely, though my lasagna meat could have done with being cooked a bit longer. The staff were friendly and the desserts were also really nice.
Great place.lovely food.fantastic staff.great atmosphere.well recommended
Really good experience, as a good village pub should be
Just lovely real food and a good atmosphere everyone is friendly
Lovely pub, very clean& Felt very safe due to covid restrictions. Had Sunday roast which was excellent. Very filling, plenty of slices of tasty roast beef. Served with scrummy roast potatoes, parsnips, home cooked yorkshires and stuffing. Accompanied with a dish of mixed fresh vegetables and jug of gravy. Delicious roast dinner and displayed beautifully on the plate. Great value for money Sunday roast.
