The staff make this place what it is. Very dog friendly pub, we went on a quiet night but get the feeling the staff would have been just as attentive had it been packed. The chap behind the bar overheard us discussing what drinks we were going to order and started preparing them before we even walked up to the bar. Menu was balanced with lots of options for all tastes - healthier choices and naughty in equal measure. Would definitely recommend.
We ordered food and drinks which came in a reasonable time frame, piping hot and which I really enjoyed too. Service from the staff was excellent, polite, and friendly. The place itself was clean with plenty of seating areas inside and out. Good size car park, so no issues with parking. Even on a bike night. So I took the opportunity and checked out all the old bikes that had turned up, which made it even better .
We drove from Newcastle-under-Lyme as we wanted a nice country pub, found The Swettenham Arms on Google and I'm so glad we did, the service was tip top, the food was unreal, I love a traditional Sunday roast and this was that and more. I will highly recommend this to my friends and family and we will certainly be back! Thanks guys!
Was a lovely pub, with 1 vegan option (on Sunday) which was really quite good.
Nut roast with lots of veg and gravy. Delicious.
The service was pretty good, just a lack of signs or directions as to how this pubs works. It appears that you can sit anywhere you want, but they only do food in certain sections (terrace and inside)
Dog friendly.
Overall quite good, with a tweak, it could be 5 stars. Maybe app ordering would allow a larger service area so staff can focus on clearing and delivering meals.
This is a super pub. The building is attractive. Staff are efficient and the food is lovely.
This place is beautiful!! With a wooded walk around the back and lavender fields at the side.. large and scenic bear garden!! Perfect day out. The food is incredible especially their Sunday roasts. We had such a lovely time here and will always go back 💜
This place is such a wonderful treat, great food and service! The food is always very good too! I do enjoy the steak and ale pie, but the fish and chips are a nice choice too! The food is always very filling and well portioned so if your a light eater, splitting might not hurt! And don’t forget to go check out the garden behind the restaurant! It makes for a nice walk, and bring some change, they have a suggested donation to enter.
Fabulous place, loved it. Called on spec on a drive out and was pleasantly surprised. Hubby had a curry and I went for the Steak. One of the best steaks I've ever tasted, and I've had a few! Will be back.
Lovely pub with excellent food! Well worth a visit, they also host a classic car and bike night through the week.
Excellent food, the young staff waiting on were smiley and attentive. The bar was friendly and quick service. The pub is set in a beautiful location with a nice dog walking area next to it. We go all of the time!
