Awesome little inn. Food was great! Arrived just after noon and the Sunday beef roast was good. Reasonable prices. A few local ales available. Nice setting in an old pub.

Great to be at my 1st ride out with #GRO enjoyed the venue ran out of onions and cheese but the burger was still outstanding went down well with a half of ale as no coffee
Tonight, I decided to treat myself to a meal out down at my local, The Golden Ball. Since being taken over by a Mother and Daughter team last November, I have had nothing but a good time in this pub and heard raves about the food. With plenty to choose from and dietary needs met if applicable, I started with battered brie wedges with a bit of salad and chutney. This definitely met my starter approval, small but not too small, appetising and something different from prawns or bread. They were mouth-watering. I then gave my full attention to my pint of Donnington craft lager, which I prefer over the Carlsberg as I find it less gassy and also more tongue pleasing. That's when my main came out. I'd order something you won't find everywhere and I certainly didn't regret my decision. I thoroughly enjoyed a gorgeous katsu chicken curry, a side of salad and sticky rice topped with a well-homemade onion bahji. Great drinks, locals, and food. If you get a chance, add the Golden Ball to your pub crawl or pub bucket list.
Stopped over in the campervan in the carpark on our way back from Cornwall. I emailed a week or so before and Becky was more than happy to accommodate us. The pub is a beautiful village pub in the cotswolds village of little swell. Extremely friendly and lovely family ran pub. Food was just what we needed, real home cooked food that was fantastic and excellent value. Good beers and wines and nothing was too much trouble. 2 days on my wife is still raving about how good the gravy and we definitely be back.
Thanks again for letting us stop!!
Solid roast in a cosy country pub. Food served until 4pm on Sundays. Good service and friendly staff.
This pub does delicious food with big portions. All food is really tasty and everything on the menu is good. We went twice in one week and had consistently good service!
Dec-22: Friendly welcome from the new owners and served a nice pint of Donnington Gold.
Lower Swell also has some nice short walks around the village.
A nice local pub. There were some nice local ales available which were well kept. The friendly locals at the bar taught us to play 'spoof' - a game of guessing how many coins in total a group of players has in their hands, each hold coins in a clenched hand, ranging from none to the number of people in the group, those who guess correctly are eliminated and the last person in the game buys a round.
Really good pub with unsurpassed views. Staff are great! Very helpful. Good selection of food and drinks.
Yet another fab lunch managed to try the fresh crab sandwich absolutely delicious and the chips are amazing too keep up the good work Fi Bex and Charlotte!!!
