I came to Nishimura this evening to celebrate my cousins 18 birthday with her and our family. I can not recommend this place enough, the food was second to none and the staff were fantastic they really went above and beyond. A fantastic little jewel of a restaurant with a relaxed atmosphere. We will all definitely be returning.
Thank you to all the staf. X
What a great experience. My (Japanese) wife and I went to Nishimura to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The staff were really friendly and we felt very well looked after. The food arrived quickly and we dove in, me with an eye on my wife, worried that the food wouldn't measure up. I needn't have worried, she was really excited to have proper Japanese food. My food was also delicious. We ate too much, drank a lot of sake and beer and had a wonderful evening. Before we left we ordered a takeaway for the next day. We'd never done that before.
One of the best and most delicious Japanese in Swansea by far.
The food is incredibly high quality and always served fresh and well presented. Having explored the menu thoroughly, there is nothing to dislike at all.
The staff are friendly, helpful, warm and inviting.
Takeaway options are extremely good and often Nishimura do discount which is an added bonus.
Highly recommend that you eat here!
Amazing sushi! Wish I found this place sooner... definatley worth a visit. We will be back again soon. Thank you
Amazing freshly made to order sushi and super friendly service. Highly recommend 👌
Stunning food, lovely place, wonderful staff. 10/10, would recommend.
Really friendly staff, excellent service, tasty food, great atmosphere. We will be back again!
Food and service always 5 star. Best sushi place 👌🏻
Best sushi in Swansea small family run restaurant so friendly, regular customers it's also good value and so fresh
First time eating 'proper' sushi. Food was excellent, service was great (and they just let you get on with it) with a lovely atmosphere and reasonable prices. Will definitely go again! 🌸
Brilliant food, good prices and lovely staff
Always happy with the food and service. 100% better than Wasabi, love it at Nishimura and have introduced many people to the restaurant.
My comments today are solely based on my experience but could very well be very different if visited on another day.
It was a very busy evening. We were accommodated, as a party of 5, without a reservation quite quickly.
The orders for drinks were taken soon after seated and then the starters. We needed more time for the mains which was okay with the waiting staff. The staff were predominantly young ladies, pleasant and friendly.
The food was good, the portion sizes were generous enough that we left some.
The downsides for me, as a person that eats nothing from the sea or red meat, was the menu was limited. Yes, I understand it is a Japanese restaurant, we went as a birthday dinner for someone that adores it.
The noise from everyone in a small area was overwhelming, but I'm sure it's a much nicer ambience when it's not a busy Saturday evening.
Overall, quite lovely, but I won't return unless with the same person that loves it.
From the outside it looks like a cheap takeaway place, but once you step inside it's quite elegant. The restaurant was quite packed with people waiting for tables, so probably booking is recommended.
Food was nice, though I found the tuna rolls somewhat bland; portions are quite large.
I ordered green tea and expected a small pot; instead I got one teabag of genmaicha, which was a bit disappointing, so next time I'll just order something else.
We had a great meal. The place is spotless, the staff very friendly and the food was yummy. Perfect for families with children or couples. Would highly recommend it.
My first Japanese experience really made a good impression. For what I received it was a really reasonable price. Absolutely delicious.
We had the vegetarian bento box which gives a little of everything, a hug in a bowl of vegetable ramen and the chicken yaki soba, as well as shared a portion of Uramaki. 🤤
I had an absolutely amazing time at Nishimura, here's why: One of the reasons why I love it so much is because it feels authentic! The plates had beautiful designs on them and the food felt like it was straight from Japan! We had the Tokyo platter, salmon and tuna bento, octopus pancake balls, and the mochi ice cream for dessert! All the food was amazing quality and the sushi was the best I have ever eaten in my life. There even was a tiny little working umbrella on one of the mochi balls! We also got a bit of free candy on our way out, I think it was mochi too! The food was so good that it was one of the best meals of my life. I highly recommend going to Nishimura.
An authentic Japanese cuisine experience. All the dishes we ate were delicious. A must visit if you like Japanese food. It's not cheap, but you get your money's worth when you eat here.
Really relaxing vibe in this cool, clean Japanese restaurant!
This restaurant is painted cool on the outside and decorated in a relaxing decor on the inside. I love the whole feel of the place.
We ordered sushi, rice and katsu curry and we didn't realise how big the portions were going to be - we were stuffed!
Everything was delicious, and the service was friendly and fast.
We will be coming here again to try something else on the menu.
Even the crockery and chopsticks were lovely :)
Visited while on holiday and we were very impressed. We were greeted at the door by a lovely man (possibly the manager?) who found us a table very quickly even though they were busy and we hadn't booked.
We were served quickly and efficiently. The food was absolutely delicious and generous. The pricing is very reasonable for the quality of the establishment.
We had 2 drinks, 2 starters and 2 mains and it came to £42.
The place has a really good atmosphere with great decor (we loved the little flags on the tables) it is also super clean. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area!
Some of the best food I've ever eaten to go along with the elegant decor inside. Service is quick and friendly, will always be a regular here!
(Would 100% recommend the Gyoza)
Lovely place , staff are very attentive without being over whelming .food absolutely excellent . Vegetarian selection was good , the rest of the party enjoyed the foolish choices . Will definitely be going back

Went there for a meal on the way home from a day out. Food was nice and quite tasty. My wife didn’t think it was worth had several items most of which were very good. The chicken teriyaki was not as good as I was hoping, but the soft shelf crab maki was very nice. My wife (who used to be a sushi chef before she moved here) didn’t think the rice was as good as it should be for the price.
Really bright and nice venue, food is amazing and staff is cool xX
My wife and I had food there Saturday evening, we had two starters and two main meals, the food was delicious and very filling. The food arrived quickly and was freshly prepared. The service was excellent and the staff were very friendly.
We will definitely be going back again.
I'm a real novice when it comes to Japanese food. I had my 50th birthday there. Wow the food was incredible! The staff very friendly and very reasonable. I would definitely go again.
Amazing food, fast service and lots of options, all of which were absolutely delicious!
Me and my partner have visited quite a lot of similar cuisine restaurants and honestly this one stands out for all the right reasons.
As it goes it's also reasonably priced!
Great place for sushi.
Really enjoyed the sashimi, excellent agedash tofu, lovely sweet raw prawns.
The special prawn tempura roll with fish roe was delicious
Only negative was being charged £2.20 for extra Wasabi when spending almost £100 on food, never been charged for it before, seems a bit mean.
Other than that highly recommended. Gets very busy so probably worth booking in advance
Delicious experience, quick service and helpful staff. The food here was delicious although it was a bit on the expensive side.
