This unique and fabulous pub never ceases to please whatever the weather whatever time of the year. The staff are fabulous and the variety of drinks available should satisfy everyone. Views are amazing and the interior including the museum are perfectly unique.
A well-known pub with locals, tourists, walkers, cyclists, and everyone else in between! The bar area is slightly different in that you have to queue in single file to be served, and most of the seating is outdoors. Thus is a good thing because the views are incredible at the front. There is a back
Just the most original and unusual pub I have ever visited in a quite astonishing place. It starts with the bar, well there isn't one! Just a square hole in the wall. See pics. Don't let that put you off though, the service is fast and friendly. You can take a seat outside and take in the beautiful
Yet another (re)visit to one of my absolute favourite countryside pubs.
Stunning views of the rolling Dorset Downs with sea in the distance.
Plenty of parking in the village facility, 250 metres to the north/west, with honesty payment.
Comprehensive range of beer/lager/cider. Excellent pies/pasties.
Quite possibly the best pub in the universe. I haven’t tried them all yet. Research continues, but this is currently number 1. Ridiculously amazing views, atmospheric inside and out. Great food, drink and staff. Not surprisingly we had to queue but even that was a delight.
Absolutely brilliant place to visit, museum and pub. Good choice of beers, amazing views from the garden. One to return to when on holiday in Swanage.
What a lovely oldie world pub this is,it had a cider & beer menu, so had to try a pint or two of the different ciders ( which were very good) plenty of places to sit in or outdoors with lovely views. Would go there again.
A quaint place, not really a pub more like a licenced cafe. No bar but you give your order at an open flap. Good selection of ale and although rated for it's pasties mine was underwhelming. My wife's cheese, onion and potato slice was good as was her sister's sausage roll. Amazing views and reasonab
Best pub in the UK in my opinion. Small, cosy spot with unmatched views across the purbecks. Take a stroll down to Winspit and on your return, stop at the Square & Compass for a cider and a pasty.
Beware of the wasps though...
One of my favourites. Traditional hill top pub with a great view over the fields down to the sea with a fabulous outdoor seating area. Full of character and great ales served straight from the cask. Pasties and Mars Bars the only food.
