We came especially as my coeliac daughter has been craving good fish and chips, the best bubbly batter and so much choice for her on the menu. All our food was fantastic, sat in the garden in the sun - perfect.

They really looked after 15 of us . All the meals came out at the same time! Everyone enjoyed their meal! Service was very attentive but the food was the best!

Staff are polite, efficient and friendly. The menu is extensive and well priced. Good selection of beers and deserves a visit if you like good food. Booking is advised though at peak times.
Food is outstanding � so pleased my Friend booked us a table ( at first I did wonder why she picked a pub for dinner�)

Visited friends in Swanage over the weekend. Great company and weather . Visited the Black Swan for Sunday lunch. Great food, only spoilt by having our roast meal drowned in gravy when we'd asked for our gravy to be separate. Otherwise, really great roast . 😋
We had an excellent dinner in the garden. Staff were attentive and friendly. The food was excellent, especially the "specials" on the boards. Great wine too.

Amazing food with great service! This old pub looks amazing inside. The toilets were a little cold as you had to go outside to get to them and there is no heat but it suits the rustic atmosphere. The chef would pop out every now and then to talk to people just to see how they were enjoying their meal. It was very nice to see his smiling face. You can tell he really enjoys his career. 😃
Eaten here before. I loved the specials trying something different and I had the Jamaican spiced monkfish 10/10. Ended with the Make your Own Sundae. All excellent 👌 service and local ales to wash it down. Would come again
Visiting friends and booked table. Didn't realise live music. Food was great but was spoilt by way too much gravy!! We asked for it to be separate as we don't like our roast swimming in gravy but it didn't turn up that way. Otherwise all good 👍
Lovely little find, me and a mate came down in the evening after work to walk a bit of the Jurassic coast tomorrow and found this place to eat.
The staff were really friendly and the place was nice and cozy. It was also packed, which is always a good sign and we were glad we booked.
Their menu was extensive and they had loads of specials, each course was spot on.
They had a great selection of beer also, so full marks all round.
Would highly recommend if visiting the area or even if you live here.
Excellent food! The chef seems French and the quality and stuff size of the portions is superb. The service was excellent, great atmosphere, drinks and prices are very recent value for money.
We will come back again.

The pub doesn't look like much from the outside but please give it a go if you are in Swanage.
Food, service and value were all excellent, we had various starters, main courses and puddings and all were delicious, they also have a specials board to supplement the main menu with some really good options on there.
We would have returned but they were fully booked which did not surprise me as it was so good.
Only slight downside was that were seated next to the bar so had people walking past during the meal, not the end of the world though considering the food was so good.
Easily the best food in Swanage 👌

Wonderful service in a fantastic local pub. The only place in Swanage that hasn't hiked up their prices!
