We had afternoon tea today and it was one of the best we have had - really accommodating as me and my mum weren’t bothered about fresh salmon and soft cheese and they accommodated this. The scones were to die for and the pot of tea was loose leafs was lovely - thank you

Lovely tea room, very friendly staff. Warm and welcoming. Also very helpful with offering alternative sandwich due to being pregnant and made a custom sandwich which they didn't have to but was very nice of them to do so. Also had high chair for little person. Amazing cake selection and fab tea selection. Only downside was bread for sandwiches could of been more fresh but overall great lunch selection best on offer in Village by far. Thank you for lovely lunch

We go here all the time as we love Love Cake. The food is always freshly made and delicious! The staff are fantastic and very attentive, even when they are very busy. I would highly recommend the afternoon tea, great tasting very filling and brilliant value for money. I can also recommend the coffee cake and the quiche!

Really delicious food, staff very friendly and accommodating....there were 8 of us on New Year's Day afternoon and they were busy, but we got a table sorted, food ordered and delivered in good time. Great range of local produce on sale too. Definitely recommend!!😄

Had a delicious cream tea served by fab staff at Love Cake too at the end of our Cornish holiday. Really wished I lived closer as this would be my regular cake stop :-)

We were having a little wander around Swanage, around teatime on Friday, and were strolling past this place to get back to our car, just as a chef was preparing a huuuge pan of lovely-looking and smelling paella outside on the pavement, for evening service. We'd already had some food but there were some good-looking cakes, so we decided to have coffee and share a piece of cake. The cake was raspberry and coconut with butter cream icing (see pics), and was delicious 😋. A friend of mine lives in Swanage and tells me the breakfast here is the best in the area, so I'll have to try to check that, next time I'm back in the area 😀

There are few cafes that can be indelibly imprinted on one's memory, but this one just about 'takes the cake'! It certainly lives up to its name with great wedges of wonderfully flavourful, moist and dense yet suitably fluffy, cakes. I particularly enjoyed the 'hummingbird' cake (a sort of banana and cinnamon twist on carrot cake) and their cream tea is to die for with no holding back on the thick clotted cream and handmade jam. Even the tea and coffee are top notch; I didn't need milk in either and had a very refreshing masala chai with the cake. Highly recommended and will now be a 'must' whenever I visit Swanage.

What a find although judging from how busy they are many people have found it. Friendly service, excellent food - you won’t leave hungry! Also dog friendly.

Been before and it is as good as the last time. Excellent friendly service. Lovely foods and varied on eats options to choose from. I didn't book a table but it would be wise to as it is not a huge venue but very popular. Would come again.

Fabulous food with a broad menu and great specials board. Staff were friendly. We went during the summer and it was busy so worth ringing ahead to book a table. Dropped a star as tables and chairs were sticky and needed a thorough clean which detracted from the experience. Edit: returned in 2022 and the menu and staff are just as good as always. Upped my rating from 4 stars to 5 stars as the tables were lovely and clean as we have come to expect. AND the cake-away is highly recommended.

1000% worth a visit if you are in Swanage! This is a hidden gem and one of my favourite places for lunch and / or cake in Swanage. Friendly staff, lovely atmosphere and great food. Plenty of choice.

Fantastic local eatery, I definitely want to come back for a full savoury outing or a scone. Sadly I found the cake a touch too sweet for my tastes, but they look the part and a slice shares nicely amongst the family. My favourite was the blondie with blueberry.

Follow Mr & Mrs R on TikTok. Arrived by train looking for somewhere to eat and subsequently came across Love Cake. As I was passing by I thought to myself, do I Love cake? Answer was simple, yes I do! So if you are looking at this and you love cake too, this is the place for you. Afternoon tea at it’s best. Well worth giving yourself the treat you so richly deserve. Cakes are well yummy! Just couldn’t try them all 😔 so I look forward to my next visit.

I popped in on the way back to my car to ask if they do cakes to take away rather than to sit down in the cafe. To my delight they did, and the server went through all of the cakes including ones for people with dietary issues. My husband had a Guinness cake and I had a slice of lime and pistachio cake. Both cakes were delicious and we were totally stuffed afterwards.

Fantastic "indulgent" little eatery two roads back from shore road in Swanage (right of the town center). From Shore road take one of the tiny lanes almost opposite the ice cream kiosk facing the sea and make your way through narrow "curiosity lanes" to this fabulous tea/lunch cafe. It has the most fantastic selection of freshly homemade cakes...Bliss !..We ordered a Welsh rarebit to eat as a late lunch, lip-smackingly good !! Then we bought cake "to go" and some very yummy chocolate dipped stem ginger biscuits. This is a "Gem" of a place. Not to be missed if visiting Swanage!
