It just gets better. Breakfast was awesome, tasty and fresh and hot. But what a stunning view. The service Jamie provides is first class. Really caring and thoughtful. Well done Jamie!
A fabulous find in Swanage, located on the historical pier 1859 is a gem. We took my Aunt for lunch, Sea Food Baskets, and a delicious Bacon and Brie Bap. Fresh, and nice portion sizes. What really stands out is the friendly and efficient service. Can’t wait to go back for a breakfast soon.
Just had the most amazing Sunday lunch. Beautifully cooked and tasted fantastic. Has beautiful views of bay and pier. Also dogs are welcome
Perfect location to enjoy any time of the day... Sit inside with views through large glass windows or if the weather is good lots of outside seating
The cafe serves a wide range of food and cake and is licensed so you can enjoy an alcoholic beverage or a lovely cup of coffee... Perfect!
I enjoyed a
What a fantastic brunch I just had! This cafe caters really well for the dairy free among us. All washed down with a really good cuppa….thoroughly recommend
Amazingly friendly staff, fantastic food. I had gone fish trio and whilst it was all delicious I reserve special praise for the crab and mackerel. Wow
Love this restaurant can’t recommend it enough! Visited today and had the most delicious food, in lovely relaxing setting overlooking the bay, with friendly helpful staff. Great gluten free selection of food, we had gluten free burgers with yummy gf buns, chips and coleslaw. They have a selection o
Dropped by for lunch and saw the plates of delicious food for other customers and my toastie sandwich with salad was just as lovely. My friend had prawn salad which was a beautifully presented and she loved it. So much so we made the restaurant our final meal of the week destination and I wasn't dis
Best mussels ever
Had a lovely family meal. (2 adults 3 kids) Made to feel very welcome by the attentive staff. Cannot recommend the mussels enough. They were soooo good. Burgers are huge. Fish basket was everything you want by the seaside. Great location. Fully recommended
We got the steam train to Swanage and after reading some reviews decided to eat at The 1859.
We sat outside which meant that we had to go in to order instead of having table service.
The food was good and one of the better meals we had on our trip, the portions were a good size and everything was
A gem of a cafe! A delicious breakfast and coffee before a walk on the pier. This is a really good cafe with a little tourist shop at one end. The staff are friendly and there’s lots of choice on the menu. Well worth a visit.
Surprisingly good restaurant on Swanage Pier. You have to pay to get on the pier but NOT if you say you're going to the restaurant. Food is somewhat on the dearer side but very nice. Our bacon and brie baps were extremely nice, as was the coffee.
Every aspect of our meals tonight here at 1859 was superb. I don't say that lightly. From the foundations upwards, the chips (best ever, not just me but everyone said that), the prepared salads, meticulously prepared top quality ingredients, the homemade coleslaw. And then the seafood, Dorset crab,
Great selection of local foods.
Crab sandwich was delicious. The fried fish bap was lovely.
Inside or outside sitting next to the harbour.
Very nice
This was our second visit. Spotlessly clean, staff very helpful good choice of food and good value.
