Quality pub which I'm led to believe is last remaining one in WC1 to sell John Smiths. Don't worry though, young freaks, craft beer is available alongside the traditional ones and is served by friendly staff. Love all the great signs and will definitely visit again
A fine honest locals boozer not far from Kings Cross. Good beer but not if you are a fan of real ales, no cask on offer that I could see. Lovely welcome and service from the young lady on the bar. A fine place to have a drink.
Nice traditional pub close to the Royal Scot Travelodge, has a good selection of beers and of course it's London prices but there ain't a lot you can do about that🤷‍♂️. Nice helpful friendly staff. Has a pool table and fruities and apparently even does bingo?!?!?
Always visit when I'm at the Travelodge, opposite. Such a nice place. Landlady and staff are really nice and welcoming. Prices are good, for London too. Definitely visit if you're near by.
Very traditional locals’ pub with striped-back floors, multiple screens for watching sports, and a pool table.
No real ales available but my pint of Beavertown Neck Oil was good. The ladies behind the bar were lovely and friendly. Not my type of pub, but 4-stars for the lovely staff.
We had a nice time in here as an alternative to the Travelodge bar. We were made to feel welcome by the person behind the bar, found a seat, and enjoyed the atmosphere. Everyone was just getting on with their own business.
Great pub
BUT
Another pub that seems to think their closing time is their 'go home' time as opposed to the atop serving time, which is what its supposed to be.
If you say you shut at midnight that means you stop serving at midnight and start asking people to leave THEN, not before
Decent prices, lovely older staff members. The younger ones need to cheer up a bit. Jukebox and a pool table always a nice touch. Can take drinks outside as well which is good for smokers.
Foods one star because there isn't none, proper pub full of contractors during the week, beer is cheap and always a good pint, staff are great
First impression was grim. But don't be deceived. Staff are friendly and the locals love a chat. It's a great place to plot up and watch the world go by. Kings X has changed massively over the years. I miss the grit and grime..
