The best Pie'n'Mash ever. I've eaten food in places all over the world from: Australia, China, and most of Europe, including Turkey and Russia. They all feature great food, and many have worldwide chains. However, only in London can you experience Pie, Mash & Liquor served as it should be. M. Manzies serves it perfectly, with that extra special chilli vinegar too if, like me, you so wish. I chose the vegan pie, and it was delicious. I can't recommend it highly enough.

Shop is located in Sutton’s pedestrianised main street opposite Asda. Well-designed traditional shopfront, you can’t miss it. The dish has an unusual taste - similar to that of pickled herring, but with a softer texture, mild and somewhat salty. But hey, it’’s fish! Great with mash, accompanied by vinegar and white pepper. Used to be the working-class favorite .. just chopped and boiled eels with vinegar, sliced onion, peppercorns, bay leaves, and salt. The staff at Manze’s are a great team that produces such lovely food. This is a nutritious meal. Pie and mash shops are no longer a common sight on London's streets – these eateries deserve our support

I love the shop and it's food, I would normally always give the food a 5* rating but the mash tasted a bit too wet, gloopy if you like. I won't put me off as I'll be there again in a few weeks.

M.Manze is a must visit for pie mash! There are three branches of Manzes but since Peckham was far away and there are too many distractions in London so I went to Sutton. As a foodie I am trying to dine at all the pie and mash shops in London because I just love pie and mash. Pie and mash originates from East London where they serve Pie, mash and eel. On this visit, I just had the pie mash so next time I shall return for the jellied eels because I am addicted to the jelly which is heaven when you put lashings of vinegar and pepper on it. As I was late due to the traffic I only had a pie and liquor to be quick. Normally I have the regular beef pie but since they had the vegan soya mince version I decided to have that instead because not all pie mash shops have a vegetarian version. Adding salt, white pepper and chili vinegar makes the pie really moreish because it makes the pastry more flavourful. The white pepper really takes it to the next level when it is mixed with the liquor and vinegar. Although the soya mince doesn't have much flavour but once you add the condiments everything goes together perfectly. I am so glad that pie mash is one of the things that is traditionally served with white pepper because chefs don't use white pepper these days, they all use black pepper which is so different. Black pepper is nice but white pepper shouldn't be forgotten just like delicious pie mash. The only thing I didn't like were the plants with deliveroo on it because it just ruined the traditional appearance of Manze. I understand they deliver for them but perhaps they are too modern and just don't look good together.

The stuff of legend. I've loved pie and mash since childhood, and this place never lets me down.

Today was my first Pie & Mash experience, and I couldn't have asked for more! It was a very interesting concept - somewhere in between "service" and "self-service" - you go up to the counter, they put your food on a plate, and you sit yourself down. I had a green sauce they called Liquor (but it wasn't alcohol). Anyway, i chucked salt & pepper and vinegar onto my meal, and the taste was sensational! It had a proper old school vibe in the cafe - it was authentic! Really friendly staff, clean, and great food. I had a great time and I'll certainly be going back.

A traditional Pie & Mash place. No frills, not much space on a busy Saturday either. However, they churn out very generous portions of traditional style Pie & Mash with the usual liquor too. I believe you can also buy Jellied eels here, but I'll leave that for "I'm a celebrity" as it looks like huge lumps of warm congealed snotter to me. The shop has a great local, friendly atmosphere and has been a landmark in Sutton for many years. Get your pearly waistcoat on and get down there, singing Chas & Dave classics while you go!

Ordered Pie and Mash to be delivered to Somerset. 10 out of 10 for both the food AND the packaging. Couldn't have done a better job. Packed by Baily ... you sir, did a fantastic job. Well done. I'll definitely be ordering on a regular basis.

We called in today while we were in London and had a lovely time. We’d never tried pie, mash and liquor. The pies were full of meat and the liquor was a new taste We also tried jellied eels😊. Definitely unusual but the Team also suggested stewed eels and let us try them, they were definitely better
