We had a family birthday meal Saturday night which was fantastic the food was delicious & plentiful the staff great fun & attentive & no hurry to leave. I would highly recommend to others. A hidden gem in Tolworth.
Staff always amazing and friendly, set menu is the way to go, fresh veg very good as is the battered zucchini, to top that of course the pudding trolley - lovely variety
Went here on New Year’s Eve and had the most amazing time. The atmosphere was brilliant and even though it was fully booked (we got the last table) the service was excellent along with the food. The staff were attentive and the DJ played excellent music
Had a lovely family meal Sunday lunchtime. The staff were working very hard as they had a few large parties but they still managed to give us a memorable experience. We love this restaurant and use it whenever we can.
Excellent food, friendly staff, lovely evening out, highly recommend, ten out of ten
Lovely food great staff a lovely family restaurant I would recommend this restaurant to anyone
Love this place. Lovely food, great entertainment and most of all a lovely team of staff
Live in Cornwall but still have family in and around Kingston, come to Sorrento's every time we visit , great value lovely food and the staff always Fantastic !!
Always welcoming with big smiles. Food is excellent. Customer service is very good. Recommend it at any time for parties, get together sand much more. Just used it for my daughter Holy Communion and could not be more perfect restaurant and also the decorations by Sweet dreams. Thank you all
Had a great meal last night. £15 for 3 courses. Generous portions. Staff lovely. Not my first visit and won't be my last.
Excellent fixed price menu & great staff - we have been going to Sorrentos for over 20 years !
Small but enjoyable restaurant. If you live in Kingston upon Thames, you may have passed this restaurant hundreds of times and not known what is inside. You hardly notice it on the road! Once me and my parents discovered Sorrento by walking pass it one day, we made a reservation and went that night.
*** SEATING ***
The seating inside Sorrento is VERY limited. I'd say 20 tables maximum with just over 100 seats. You MUST book in advance if you want to eat at Sorrento or you'll have to go elsewhere.
*** SPEED ***
Once we ordered our food, the drinks arrived in 3 minutes. My parents starters arrived in 15 minutes and after the starters, the main courses than took 15 more minutes. 33 minutes waiting. That's OK considering the restaurant was full and it was starter AND main course.
*** PRICE ***
£76 (incl. tip & service) was our total bill which is fairly reasonable. I am including starters. (Urbanspoon don't count starters in cost of meal per person). So excluding starters, it's about £20 per person.
*** CLEANLINESS ***
The floors were spotless and I found no grubbiness or any dirt on the inside or outside of the restaurant.
*** PRESENTATION ***
All of our dishes were presented in a beautiful way!
*** TASTINESS ***
My sirloin steak tasted lovely! However, I did ask for it 'well done' and it was a bit pink in the middle. However, the rich taste made up for it being slightly undercooked. My mum's fish was lovely and my dad's chicken was very tasty. The carrots we had on the side tasted average but the potatoes were really rich in flavour but a little too strong-flavoured for my liking.
*** STAFF ***
We saw 5 waiters on our visit all of whom had great character and were happy to serve us!
*** TIP ***
Tip was included with the cost.
*** OVERALL ***
Overall, Sorrento is a good restaurant with lovely meat, despite it being an Italian restaurant. Even though our food wasn't Italian it was great, the service was fairly quick, the staff are nice and it's clean.
STAR RATING: *** (out of 5*)
/10 RATING: 6/10
URBANSPOON RATING: I like it.
Booked,6 people for dinner at short notice. Menu and specials had a good and varied number of options. Prices were v reasonable. Food was good and main course generous portions. Staff v nice waiter Victor was funny. Only negative was coffee a little weak. I would not hesitate to return. Well done.
Exceptional food including the appetizers, the mains and the desserts (by the way this review is on behalf of 3 people). Service was very patient, polite and helpful as well. Atmosphere was romantic and calm too, no wonder so many people came in despite that it was a street restaurant. May very well be the best around the area.
One of the restaurants I like the most in local Surbiton.
Sardines are clean and grilled very well with herbs. Fish and liver are fresh and soup is rich of taste. Foods are always good and staff are nice.
Great for a friendly family meal or a romantic night out.
This place has been open for over 25 years and continues to deliver tasty classic Italian food. Staff are incredibly friendly and welcoming. They have an excellent wine list and the food is well-priced.
We visited for a first holy communion and they could not have been more accommodating, putting on a drinks reception in the garden and then decorating our table.
I've been eating in this restaurant for 30 years. I have never had a bad meal. Food is always delicious. Service has always been excellent. My Friends and family have visited and all agree Sorrento's is a great place to eat. There is a small parking area behind the restaurant not very big however plenty of parking in the evening on street.
The food was amazing and stuff super friendly and helpful love the atmosphere too
Super recommended
This has been unchanged for years. Great flavours of traditional Italian dishes, with good portions and great friendly service. You can tell the staff love what they are doing.
Happy to host an event too, adding lots of nice little touches.
Can't go wrong with this place, great service, good food and a very nice and spacious restaurant. Has a nice outdoor patio at the back which is great during summer. I believe they also do live music on some nights!
A Gem!! Good food, good service and good prices. We found this place today as a last minute italian and have decided it's we're coming back next week as the menu is vast and plenty to chose from. the staff are super sweet and professional. Can't wait to come back!
Today, I decided to try out Festive menu at my local eatery....... for starters I had Nonna’s Arrosto(V) V
(Roast vegetables, drizzled with pesto & honey topped with crunchy pine nuts) followed by Main course, which was Pesce del Giorno
(Fresh fish of the day, then to top it all the waiter suggested I could have Desserts as well..... Who could resist a Cheese Cake.. followed by nice cup of Capuchin...... All came to £22.95p..... I think, this place is a bargain!
Local restaurant, serving up lovely food. Calamari was a bit bland and papaya starter was a bit plain. But other than that food was great - fillet steak was so juicy! Loved the eccentric waiter- grazi, grazi!!
Fantastic ~
Our first meal of Italian food in uk…
Service & food all good
Me & my kids hv a wonderful dinner there…we will definitely be back soon!
Took my cousin and his wife out as part of their wedding present to my favourite restaurant. Certainly didn't disappoint, a lovely meal had by all.
Wonderful, family-run, Italian restaurant - welcoming, super food and we had a cracking bottle of wine, too.
All tremendously good value and I was delighted to finish with an Amaro 👍🏻
Will return very soon.
We went to Sorrento’s for my son’s 21st. Food was delicious, homely atmosphere, great service and a warm welcome from host Roselina & her team. Thank you. We will be back!
The waiter in Sorrento is a hoot. The pasta dishes are great. Not too busy. It has a lot of regular customers who all know each other.
